I have a domain name coming up for renewal and am getting emails from a few services but, since I know virtually nothing about this, am at a loss as to which service I should renew with...
Any other eBay sellers have suggestions as to which ones are best? ... or worst?

http://www.buydomains.com/ seems to be a good one and the price is right. Has anyone heard of any problems with them to date, as I also have some domains coming up for renewal and am not sure what to do.

Thanks, lamps4u! They happen to be one of the ones from whom I received an email solicitation. It's $16 a yr I believe and includes some stuff. I need to become better versed on these things to know what I want.

I can only give kudos to the company that set me up. $10 a month and that includes the domain name for 50 megs of space, unlimited email ids and lots of support. I recently learned asp (lets you connect your pages to a database and build dynamic pages on the fly based on user input) which only works on windows systems, so they switched me to a windows server so quickly, I didnt even know about the change until my asp pages started working. The amount of support I got setting up my javascript and forms was phenomenal. This is the best $10 a month I ever spent. If you have any questions about the service or about asp, just email.

I use Dotster (http://www.dotster.com). They're an ICANN-accredited registrar and their prices are good.
They charge $14.95/year and they're currently running a special -- $11.95 for a one-year renewal if you transfer your domain to them.
Those prices are for domain registration only. If you need hosting as well, you may want to check out some of the services noted above. (I use dzones.com for hosting.)

I use www.lowcostdomains.com and have been very happy with them. The yearly fee is $24 but you get a great many bonuses for that price.
I keep one hosting account for hosting my web pages. I then use lowcostdomains.com to manage 8 other domain names I use. Why, you ask? Because lowcostdomains allows for domain redirection and masking. I don't pay for 8 different hosting accounts I just sent people to different directories on my master account. Many services who offer redirection services offer this but the problem is that the actual subdirectory in your other account now appears in the address bar of the browser. With the domain masking at lowcostdomains the individual domain names the person typed in will remain in the browser's address bar. They don't need to know you're being cheap and combining 9 different domains into one account.
Another positive thing with lowcostdomains is that they allow you to have unlimited email accounts for each of the domains you have registered with them.
Doing the domain name hosting this way literally saves me thousands of dollars every year in hosting fees.
I agree! We have a 2 large sites with Webcom - but when I read about FATCOW a few months back I visited, and purchased a third site with FATCOW - and are so pleased, that we just purchased another site via FATCOW....that means we have 4 domain names....We are VERY, VERY pleased with the FATCOW site, the people, the support, the service, the shopping cart & the greatly improved sales since we went to a shopping cart system. We have our own Merchant Accounts so just pick up our orders via a secure server. We are extremely pleased with http://www.fatcow.com . Check them out – the price is more than right -
