I've been trying all morning to relist auctions that each have 1 pic on ebay. It won't let me relist any of them. It gets to the page where you edit the info right before the preview. Then this box comes up saying it's uploading the pic and that it'll take about a minute. About a minute later the pic uploading box disappears and it will not advance to the preview page. I guess this is ebay's tactic to get out of free relists for now. I'll have to go and list them as a new auction and be out of money. Pisses me off.

Hi
I have had the same problem for the last 3 months, so I haven't been relisting
but yesterday I went and signed up with Andale and they charge 0.15 cents
to relist and if it sells ebay refunds you the 0.15 cents. And relisting was
so quickly like 1 -2 -3 and I was done.

There is always a problem relisting with Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator 6. Netscape Navigator 4.7 works fine in relisting on eBay. You can run your auction listing and relisting on AW without a problem.

I have used internet explorer (primarily) but have Netscape too but I have had this problem for the last year. It takes a half hour to relist one thing if you can at all. Definitely a problem with Ebay. I hardly relist this was thru them anymore because it just too much trouble. Definitely think when things at ebay get weird this is the first function they drop! To their advantage of course.

I'm glad to see others commenting about this problem. I ran into it over a year ago with Internet Explorer. It was virtually impossible to relist an item, no matter what computer I tried to do it from (home, office, notebook, etc). I finally discovered that Netscape 4.7 did not have this problem with Ebay, so I keep it on my computer only for Ebay relists and use IE 5.5 for everything else. A friend of mine just commented this week that he could no longer relist with IE. I told him about Netscape - he downloaded it and it works fine. IE had been working for him. I don't know what triggers this problem or why so little is heard about it. 80% of the world uses IE so I would think they would be howling about this problem between it and Ebay.

I should have pointed out that the opera browser is only 2.5 megs and works as well as IE or NETSCAPE, without the large file size. All your relisting problems will be gone.

I finally got a response from ebay. Their explanation for the problem was that when you relist an item their program gets the pic from a cache on your computer and that if you clear out your cache or have your browser set to only hold a certain amount of cache that you won't be able to have it access the pics. I've never heard of this before, I thought it uploaded your pic when you listed your auction the first time??

EBAY's first response to every problem you could ever think of has ALWAYS included the phrase "Clear Your Cache". No matter how inappropriate to the problem, it's what they ALWAYS lead with.
They actually could care less whether it solves your problem or not. Just so long as you go away for now.

If ebay doesnt allow you to relist, that is violation of their own rules. DONT ALLOW YOUR EBAY BILL TO BE PAID FOR THE AFFECTED ITEMS. It is clearly ebay policy that your original listing fee allows you to relist for free if the item sells the second time around. If you are not allowed to relist then ebay hasnt provided the service they charged you for with the original listing.

zymo:
And when they suspend your acct. for non-payment, go picket eBay central.....
The problem is only with IE. If you use another browser, it works fine, so they aren't preventing you from relisting.
Just download the opera browser and all the problems are solved

I relist with IE all the time. Currently version 5. Did it just this morning as a matter of fact on 4 auctions with no problems.
