I have had a Me Page for almost as long as I have been with Ebay. I have always had a link to my homepage on it.
I put a link to my homepage in my auctions as well, but I guess I will have to stop doing that. Since I don't sell from my homepage I can't see why it would be hurting anyone, but I guess that is just the way it is.
My new auctions simply say to visit my Me Page for my info on my work.

I have had a ME page for two and a half years - as long as I have been w/ebrat. I have pics of my 'boys' (2 dogs), pics of some of the nicer widgets I'd previously sold, statement of my business creed, a rant about non-payers, poems..........

I have had an ME page for 3 years now and In there I have links to
4 of my websites. Would this still be allowed with the new changes?

I've been on eBay for 6 years - had a "ME" page for about 3. Have a counter on my "ME" page which tells me hardly anyone ever visits the thing anyway, and since I don't have any links on it because early on I saw most people don't visit the "ME" page, then mine will stay as it is.
Personally, I think the "ME" page is a waste of time from what my counters tell me, but I leave mine up for the few interested. I have some examples of unique items we have sold on eBay; a bit about our business, and our business practices.

I've been selling on eBay for 3-1/2 years.
Never had a ME page until now because I didn't have the HTML skills to edit it.
The moment eBay put through this latest policy change I changed my userid to my website address, and made up a ME page that is linked to my site. I see lots of other dedicated sellers doing the same thing.

IMO the eBay ME pages can be a very useful tool for sellers. I use mine for a number or reasons.
1. To show potential bidders I'm a legitimate registered business.
2. To show a personal gallery of some of the higher end items I've sold on eBay over the years. I believe this helps potential bidders realize that I can safely handle & ship some very high end, and very fragile items.
3. To explain some of the various Customs rules that bidders should expect when importing items in to their country.
I've had over 1000 "unique" visitors in the past 6 months, so I guess it must be paying off.
And the best part it's about the only thing left on eBay that's FREE.
My hunch is that in the very near future eBay will ban website links on the ME pages as well.

I think the idea of a personal page is a good one. It gives (especially) sellers a chance to introduce themselves to the customer. Many customers could care less, but it's nice that it's there for anyone who is interested.
I still hawk my items on my About Me page, but I also tell a little about myself. I have some of my artwork displayed, links to free kids software, a link to a free Bible for Windows, photos of eBay, descriptions of some of my auction management software, a link to my web site, and maybe some other stuff.
I don't remember when I added a counter to my About Me page. I think I had it on for a while, then turned it off, then turned it on again. Anyway, I've had over 5000 hits on my counter. Yes, I do make a point of inviting customers. I think it's important to present a real face to customers.
