Every ebayer who hates Negative feedbacks must go to this ebay site and see this!
On ebay home page at bottom look for "Spotlight's ON" (Hit That) Then (hit) on logo 2002 Olympic Game Tickets.
It seems one bidder with a (-1)feedback is bidding on everything and the rest of the bidders have a (0) feedback. This will surely make ebay look like a dummy when these guys don't paid. Maybe ebay will install a device, a user with (-1) feedback can only bid on one item unit a positive (1) is received. Go to this site for tonights laugh.

Something even funnier, look at the dates the people with 0 joined. Most are the same date May 22nd, one is the 27th and one the 28th.

Definitely a massive screw up on the bidding for those Olympic tickets. 33 auctions and they are all snakebit.

Funny, all of those auctions violate at least one of eBay's terms, today. And any that are still live by next friday are violating at least one more.

I haven't looked into them all thoroughly so I don't want to make unfounded accusations but what it looks like at first glance is a shill ring with the 0 feedbackers pushing up some real feedback bidders.

daco100, take a look, it is just a bunch of zero FB newbies having fun at ebay's expense. The real bidders are WAY down the bid lists.
Lots of links in them auctions, wish the rest of us could do that!
At least ticket scalping for an event in Utah isn't prohibited by ebay's ticket policy.

Wonder if they're going to put in for NPB FVF or if they'll just be gone by then? LOL

I hope this outfit hasn't counted up their money yet.
On the other hand, because of the particular nature of the items, the bids may be legit.

I wonder who came up w/that awful color scheme. On my PC, the information is showing up a light yellow on the view auction page. UGH!
What I especially love is the brilliant manager of the SLC auctions hasn't yet figured out they are being had. Probably just sitting there counting all the extra money they are getting. Duh!

Well... the (-1) is gone
Go look at the reason for the canceled bids
They still look snakebit though...

The 0 Feedback could be legit bids. People joining just to bid on the Olympic items.
Doesn't Ebay have some verification system for high dollar bids? Like with Great Collections? You would think same rules would apply.

Interesting that the seller cancelled the high bid in one auction but left the second high bid of that same bidder stay in another auction.
Cancelled$2,500.00
Explanation:Mother reported false bid by daughter.

Wow. Lots of rule violations in ALL of the Olympic ticket auctions. Good cause, but still.....
1. "By participating in this auction you agree to the terms and conditions as set forth in the Ticketing License Agreement." But the licensing agreement is linked elsewhere, an eBay no-no.
2. "If you live outside the United States and would like to purchase tickets, please contact your National Olympic Committee (NOC)." The NOC is a link. This is a pretty blatant solicitation and link to off-eBay sales.
3. "To help ensure a smooth process for all participants, Salt Lake 2002 will contact bidders via telephone within 24 hours of their bids to verify any bid of $15,000 or more. Please be available to receive a phone call at the number associated with your eBay User ID in order to verify your bid. If Salt Lake 2002 cannot verify your intent to bid over the telephone, your bid will be removed."
This is OK, but a bit odd. And I understand why they wanna do it, under the circumstances. I'd forgotten that sellers can get contact info, including phone, for bidders on open auctions. So what are the legit bidders supposed to do, sit by the phone for 24 hours?
4. Huge 730 X 72 pixel banner links offsite to the Salt Lake 2002 site- where they have a retail store (of course). Banner is WAY to big for eBay rules, and linking to the SL 2002 site doesn't seem to comply with the new rules (not designed to provide more info on the product, and the web site contains non-eBay items for sale...maybe this is OK...not sure of much anymore).
But hey- it's all for a good cause. Why nit pick? (I'll tell ya why...because others are being suspended, with more to come next week, for these very same violations. But not the big guys. Selective enforcement is never a good thing. That's why.)

Very interesting. Smells shilly. Gotta cancel it when the shill becomes the highest bidder. Shill wants to push up the high bidder, not win the auction.

Maybe I'm odd for finding it very logical that a bidder would do that... If I'm the second highest bidder I don't need to cancel that bid since I'm not winning it, I just need to not bid again.
Now, that doesn't defend these people... the bidding does look very fishy... but leaving a second highest bid when cancelling a high bid doesn't seem out of the ordinary on its own merit.

We were sitting here watching the news last night and I started talking about this thread. About 5 minutes later my local news did a short blurb about the same topic! We live in OR, so it was kind of weird.
