I'm curious as to how to ship a picture the cheapest. I have a Disney picture in a frame that's approx. 16" X 20". I have a cardboard box that's about the perfect size, but after padding it and putting peanuts in the package, the Priority Mail rate is almost $10! I see the same picture in completed auctions with a shipping charge of $3.50 and $5.00. This picture has no glass, so it doesn't need to be packaged super careful. I'm wondering how to ship it for cheaper. I don't think anyone would bid if it would cost $10 to ship.

I know from experience you can get in a real mess trying to ship a large picture. Be sure to check with your PO (FedEx, whatever) before you list the shipping cost. I do know of several pictures, large & heavy, which have sold although the shipping costs $50. I kid you not. All said, $10 isn't so much for shipping a pic!

Another thing You can try is checking on shipping UPS. It might also quilfy to ship media mail since it is "printed matter"

It would NOT qualify as Media Mail
Media Mail (Book Rate)
Description
Generally used for books (at least eight pages), film (16 mm or narrower), printed music, printed test materials, sound recordings, play scripts, printed educational charts, loose-leaf pages and binders consisting of medical information, and computer-readable media. Advertising restrictions apply.
Packages must measure 108 inches or less in combined length and girth.
Mark each package "Media Mail" in the postage area.
Don't try to slip things by you can end up with high shipping fees and sometimes fines
