I won an item from a new seller with about 12 fb, and minutes after the auction ended I received an automated end of auction response generated from Paypal (so it says at the bottom of the email). The email states that Paypal is this seller's preferred method of getting paid...yada yada...
But it also said that if I preferred another method of payment to contact the seller, which I did, stating that I would like to send a money order for payment. Then, not hearing from the seller I sent another email the next day. The auction closed nearly 96 hours ago, last Friday morning. Yes, I know, Memorial Day weekend and all, but she had most of Friday at least to email back.
And I'm not so sure that I would count an automated response from Paypal as legitimate contact from seller, since I have no information as to where do I send payment, etc...
The rest of the story is the item probably went for cheaper than she had hoped (just speculation, but I think I got a great deal on it) and I'm beginning to wonder if she's hoping I'll just forget all about it. That's not going to happen because I really want the item and I won the auction fair and square.
Now I'd be reluctant to send payment via Paypal since there seems to be a communication problem.
Time to pull contact info? Or give it another day or two? I will neg this seller if I don't get the opportunity to pay for and receive the item.

I would give it till the end of the day. It is possible this seller only has a computer at work, or was out for the weekend. They could have computer problems.
I installed WIN 2000 on my machine Friday, and it wiped all my emails from the last 2 years (over 70,000). Now I have had to go through ebay and email the high bidders to resend their addresses. This is on packages that were supposed to go out this morning.
Give the seller a chance, then if not satisfied, use the feedback as it should be used and leave a big fat NEG.

I can understand why you're upset, although the seller does still have until Wed. to contact you.
All of the relevant information should have been in that first notice, not just an assumption that you'd be pleased to pay using PayPal, therefore, you didn't need any other information.

Looks like I'm just a worrywort, and a premature worrywort at that. She contacted me and seems real nice. I'll get my thing.

I get those Paypal automated things a lot, and frankly I delete them as most of the sellers don't even realize it's happening.

We use the PP response on all of our ebay auctions now. (it sure saves me a bunch of time)
However, I did include all the info in with the response so that the buyer can pay via money order or whatever.
I do believe that some do delete it without reading it, judging by some of the emails we have gotten lately.
