I just checked and I have 110 Paypal Referrals that are pending.
Whats with that?
I am taking paypal off all my Auctions and am no longer going to accept it. And my Paypal Mastercard is gone as well...maybe I will save that...who knows what it may be worth on Ebay 20 years from now...

I have dozens pending as well, going back many months.
The referral money stopped for most folks back in September, when PayPal made the requirements to tough that no more bonuses are being paid anymore. Here's the current hoops your referral has to jump through in order for you to get your $5:
******
What does my friend have to do?
Your friend must complete the following for both of you to earn the $5 bonus:
Sign up for PayPal
Confirm their email address
Confirm a checking account
Add $100 or more by electronic funds transfer into their PayPal account
Sign up for a Money Market Fund
*******
As if that's not enough, tomorrow PayPal is increasing the electronic funds transver to $250 (in a single payment).
Note that the Money Market Fund requirement is a huge obstacle for most folks-- it requires that your referrals give PayPal their SS#, something most won't do.

Paypal should just either slacken the requirements, or dump the referral program.
The referral program gives a false impression to people that they will make some money to refer people ...in fact they make nothing..only one making money is Paypal!
maybe they should pay 2 bucks for anyone who signs up, and 5 bucks once they go through all the hoops..that would be fair...
As it is there is no benifit to me to refer anyone to paypal...why would I do that?
Good Bye Paypal!!

What are you selling that you're relying on PayPal refs. for income? Even when that program was legit I only thought of Paypal as a convenient payment option for my customers.

Thanks for the explanation Zazzie and Vargas!! I'm taking my original post off of here so as not to give paypal any more nutzo ideas to pull on us.

Can you read...geeeze you read like some of my bidders! Where did I say I rely on paypal refs. for income? My point is why have a paid referral program if it is next to impossible to get paid for a referral!
Paypals ref program is a scam!

I have the same problem, I haven't received payment for 23 referrals since May 16, 2000. So how do I take their referral logo off my auctions. Help!

I didn't see that on their policy changes page... are you sure?

No--for you to get the referral money --your referred person has to electronically transfer $250.00

It's on the policy update page under "Revised Bonus Requirement."
What Steve is referring to is the amount of money new PayPal members have to electronically transfer into the money market fund to qualify for the sign-up bonus (and for you to qualify for the referral bonus).

Right.
Used to be that any referral paying with PayPal resulted in the $10 (?) referral.
Then it was only "verified" paypal customers, who linked a checking account.
Then it was only verified paypal customers who transferred $100 into their PayPal account electronically.
Then it was only those that did all the above, AND signed up for PayPal's money market account, which requires SS# and all that.
And starting tomorrow, even all that isn't enuf. The person you refer (usually your high bidder) must do all that PLUS transfer $250 electronically into their PayPal account.
Is it any wonder that there are no more referral bonuses?

Actually I read just fine, but you seem to be unduly upset over something that should be (and is according to you) incidental to your "real" business. Obviously you have customers using PayPal, so why would you cut of your nose to spite PayPal (not!) over something so silly as chasing refs?
Getting involved in that hoop jumping contest is a time waster, let me break it to you they don't want you to get a ref. anymore than eBay wants to refund your Final Value Fees. I have lots of customers use PayPal and I have no idea how many refs are pending, because I realized that program effectively ended a long time ago.
