I'm a low-volume seller and run maybe half a dozen auctions a week at the most, but for my last two batches of listings I've had zero buyers use PayPal. None. Nada. Zip.
That bums me out because I like PayPal so much better than waiting for a check or money order in the mail.
Has this been the trend for anyone else, or is something strange happening in my world?

I'm a fairly low volume seller too, I have about 30 or so auctions going at any given time. I've found that if anything Paypal is increasing ~ I have my fair share of snail mail, but for the most part the majority are Paypal payers, and FAST payers at that. =)

Right now , I would be happy to get paid!
I kept 20-30 auctions up at all times, until now. These last two weeks have been killers. No bids, No paypal & pretty much no pay.
I've been selling for a year and have never had the low bids & slow pay like I'm having now.
BTW I sell Vintage, Retro decorator items.

Yes I have noticed a drop in paypals payments too.
Bill point payments and money order payments are up.

We are also currently low-volume sellers....(10-20 per week) but still nearly 80% are pay via PP!
Great because I have been using the PayPal debit card as of late.......very handy!
No PayPal problems here..........yet, anyway.

Yes - Paypal payments must be down! (Finally!)
I closed my Paypal account in November of last year and I'm now down to about 2 Paypal payments that I receive per week on average.
(Those payments must then be cancelled by the buyer and they almost always repay using Billpoint).
About 90% of my (paying) customers now pay with Billpoint.
I also rarely get people asking me to take Paypal anymore. Guess Paypal's reputation is finally getting around....

I sell around 100 items a week and with Paypal it is either feast or famine. One week I'll have 30 bidders use Paypal the next week I'll have 4 it goes up and down.
Just depends on who is bidding.
I have noticed the number of Billpoint payments I receive have almost doubled in the past 2 months.

I have a lot of repeat customers and have noticed that a lot of them, that used to use PayPal, aren't doing so any more. Fine with me. I personally like getting mail and haven't had a bad check in 2 1/2 years.

I do about 200 auction sales a month. Lately, it's been about 100 BillPoint, 50 PayPal, and 50 check or MO.
BillPoint is popular with my buyers because I do a lot of Buy in Now sales.

I have noticed a decrease in PayPal and an increase in BillPoint payments. Mostly this has happened in the last 30 days or so. And nobody has used Paydirect with me in months.

I think Billpoint use is up because of eBay's anti-competitive behavior. If anyone checks the EOA notice eBay sends out, you will find that the wording in eBay's notice may make people believe that eBay requires payment to be made by Billpoint. Does anyone know of any way to prevent eBay from sending the bidder a notice?

I'm a buyer and have noticed that a lot of sellers are not only not accepting PayPal but saying so in their auctions either with a graphic of PayPal with the red circle and slash or bold, all caps. Either that or the TOS specifically states that if you want to pay using PayPal, you need to use existing funds in your account or your checking account only so the seller doesn't incur fees.

95 percent of my buyers, foreign and domestic, pay via PayPal. Works for me.

Yes, my Paypal receipts are declining while Billpoint is increasing. Too bad, since I far prefer Paypal despite the following opinion:
I believe Paypal is slowly fading because of its major management fiascos which got so many ebay sellers irate. I also think they didn't learn much from the contratemps. They seem incapable of dealing positively with those of us who support them. Honesty and consistancy are important in a relationship, yet sadly in short supply on the net.
I speculate that there is sort of an internet urban legend in which dot coms like Paypal think that customers can be easily replaced. I disagree, and in the long term they may finally pay the price for their bungling of their fee structure, not to mention their arbitrary treatment of sellers who have became victims of fraudulent charges.
And now that the $5 for recruiting new users became a virtual lie, forget us sellers actively recruiting for them.
I think there were always better choices available for managing these problems, but instead Paypal chose draconian solutions, poor customer service and even got a black eye from the BBB for non-professional responsiveness. Financial institutions have to be especially careful of their pr since customer doubts = failure every time.
Boycotts and threats usually don't work, but I do believe that there are enough unhappy former users who have worked to deny Paypal its credibilty that they have actually succeeded in hurting them.

We're high volume sellers and can tell you that payments in general this week have been slow, regardless of method. We attribute most of the delays to the Memorial Day holiday last week. Things should get back to normal next week.

I stopped having the paypal logo in my listings, and that used to get a lot of new users to sign up. Also, their new limit on personal accounts have caused some buyers to have their payments declined and I'm sure they're getting fed up with paypal because of it.

From a small-volume seller and buyer and a solid PayPal user/fan: no change in PayPal actvity. I'd love 100% but I still run across people who won't consider online payments. Best benefit to me is to buy and sell from the same pot. No complaints about PayPal service or communications.
