For the eBay members Pleece Force.

Sellers and buyers have been invited to do just that by Kevin Pursglove, so let's just DO IT!

As airguy pointed out in this thread: http://auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=2&thread=377427

{quote}I wonder how prepared ebay is to receive a email for every auction listed that is not in compliance with their rules? if there is a seller with 100 auctions and say 100 people send in separate emails for each auction that is 10,000 for just one seller 10 sellers is 100,000 emails, 100 sellers is 1 million emails. if the sellers really wanted to get organized and hit them every which way they could, email campaign, web sites, advertising, charge backs for services not provided, bumper stickers that say ebay killed my cat.....I could no longer afford to feed him.

email:
When you find a seller in violation of any rule copy and post all the auction numbers so everyone can send a email for each auction even after it has been ended, break up the auction numbers like auction number 1 2 3 451245 is in violation of your links/PayPal reward/font size too big rule, or whatever. if you break up the auction number it would make it next to impossible to filter the emails out. use different email addresses, one person could send the same emails from 10 different email addresses pretty easily. I wonder it their servers could take the load. {unquote}

I'm rarin' to go!

Anyone else?????

bogalucy...

No reply to your topic...

That ought to tell you where everyone stands on the "Links" issue...

Works the same way when trying to get people to stand up and defend their "Rights" with the Feds...All talk and NO action...

Look through eBay Premier. Lots and lots of violations there and some just register to put a link on the about me page.

I did a description search on eBay for "VISIT OUR WEB SITE." There was over 30,000 hits. That was for only ONE phrase! There must be thousands of auctions with links to web stores.

The Pleece force has lots of work to do! I won't turn anyone in, unless it is a competitor.

NAaaa, just fooling.

Hey...

Over 60124 that say "Visit My Website"...

All with either a "Live Link" or the URL spelled out...

The eBay members Pleece Force has their job cut out for them...(No, I did NOT check them all)

I've been away for a while and just thought I'd check in to see what's going on around this place. Good to see some interesting topics, but sadly, not nearly the number of posters that used to be here it seems.

Anyway, I am appalled by this move of eBay's to restrict links. I see their point; however, they don't seem to see or care about the seller's point, so nothing has changed, except to go from bad to worse that is.

My feeling is that every seller should either post a link (or several links) in every single auction they list. That would certainly give the powers that be at eBay something to do with their time other than screwing around with the site.

Or do as Lucy and Airguy suggests and bombard eBay with emails concerning all the violations. Then send them an email asking if anything has been done about these violations. Then send them an email thanking them for looking into the situation. Then send a follow-up email telling them that intend to keep up your vigilance on their behalf. It's only as good (if not better) than they deserve.

MrBucks: Unfortunately, I think you are right on the money with your observation!

I think that eBay is planning on a 2 week "grace period" of kindly notifying violators about the new policy... then after the 14th of June, they will begin giving "official notices" for FIRST TIME Violators... then if the seller has received a First Time Violation Notice and continues to break those same rules, they will be at risk of having those auctions pulled.

Soooo save your "deputy work" until after the 14th.... IF you want your investigating time to actually MEAN anything toward getting the BIG BOYS in the Dog House. *snicker*
