Need Sony Mavica FD73 help ~ when the camera gets to number MVC922s is goes back to MVC001s ~ but I need it to use something else ~ anything else so that I don't end up with MVC001s multiple times when I am still using the first series of pictures ~ without having to rename the pictures.
There has got to be a way ~ does anybody know the secret?
I use the 85 all the time, I usually will crop and save (at this time also name) each photo and save on my hard drive under "ebay photos" Just loaded close to 100 yesterday and I usually keep the "names" simple when the image is saved. This way I can always go back and reload if AW deletes images that haven't been used in some time....depending on your inventory, it is an easy to do backups....

If you always keep the default name (MVCXXXX), how in the world do you find a specific picture? You'd have to look through hundreds of photos to find that certain one.
I always rename my pics, whether they're for eBay or personal.

I have a 73 model and I do rename after I check and adjust the pictures on the ArcSoft software that came with your camera. I think it is a great program. I rename with the date I load them with Image Hosting - "jun1rename". Easy to find. I tried all ways to use numbers and could not find an easy way, without getting duplicates
I have the FD-73, but this isn't the important part of your message, organizing seems what you want to do.
You sell:ie:bananas, beanies, balloons
15 pics of bananas (plantains/topview/angle)
15 pics of beanies (bears/birds/etc)
15 pics of balloons (redones/skinnyones/etc)
I make my first pic, if I'm using multiple pics for an auciton, non-numbered. If it's the main pic, it's non-numbered:
bananana.jpg or ban.jpg
As you go along looking at the pics/touching up, etc....your saving them as well, hopefully in the same directory.
When you "save as", I click the previous pic saved lets say "BAN.JPG", that pops up in the "save as" window, stick a number 1 at the end. Next pic, "save as", click the last one you just did "ban1.jpg"(no-typing), change the number 1 to 2.
bananana1.jpg or ban1.jpg
You want the top view of the banana to be located after the main pic, just name the angle.
bantop.jpg
banlow.jpg
banside.jpg
Got 2 pics of the top angle:
bantop.jpg
bantop1.jpg
banlow.jpg
banlow1.jpg
Maybe some of the ban. are plantains:
banplan.jpg or banplnt.jpg
top view of plantains:
banplantop.jpg or banplnttop.jpg
The beanies and balloons are just further examples of the LETTER B, in case your asking how to seperate all the "B's" etc....
When you go to upload the pics, you know exactly(if you remember), what is what, without having to scroll up and down a directory looking for:
I usually don't take 90 pics at a time though with the FD73. I group stuff together, if I'm taking a pic of several items, I make sure or try to take pics of one item, then the next.
When you stick that floppy in(if it has previous pics on it), look at date and time, this will be in order with the pics you just took.
I don't work off the floppy, I have 2 directories/folders, with one higher folder:
aucpics
temp and pics
I open up the "A" drive, drag and drop all the current pics I want to "temp". It's quicker working off the hard drive. Then start opening the ones in temp, consecutively in order,(that's how you took the pics), and start the process above.
2 months later, you may find a rare purple banana, and just take one pic of it.
banprpl.jpg
this will fall nicely in your list.
If your using the AW pic attachment page,"creating auction", you can just use your keyboard on the list, type "B", all the "B" come up one by one as you hit the "B" key again and again, untill you find the:
banprpl.jpg or whatever your looking for.
Good luck
[not smiling because it's early]
Just wanted to add:
I noticed you said, "without renaming the pics", this seems pretty hard if your going to have:
MVC-099
MVC-100
MVC-984636252563526365374647 (oh yeah, this one is the purple banana)
