What's this I hear about ebay implementing a new policy to scramble pages accessed by unapproved auction launch sites? I think I ran across that on collector.com news.

Any truth to it? And if so, how does Auctionwatch fare in the picture? I'd hate to think I need to change my auction management co. because they don't have a business partnership with ebay.

Or do they??

I think that AW launches via the Sell Your Item page & is thus (I believe) very vulnerable to the "scrambled-dodo" effect that eBay loves to fling at sites that refuse to throw big buckoroonies their way!

Proof is in the performance. If COMPANY A can launch auctions INSTANTLY due to its EBAY API subscription, and COMPANY B takes who knows how long or when to launch auctions, this says to me that the API is an ALMOST PERFECT protection against eBay "scrambled-dodo" effect.

Mark will say that I'm full of KAKA, but I can only go by my experience, which has been pretty conclusive to me.

edited to say I'm no engineer -- I can only observe.
