Hi everyone - Does anyone here use 'Endicia' for their online postage? I signed up yesterday and today it seems that their site has been down all day? Is it just me??
(With my luck, the company probably went out of business 12 hours after I signed up.)

Hi -- I'm with Endicia.
Our servers have been running constantly. Sometimes our Internet provider, PSINet, has an interruption which effectively blocks access from a certain geographic location until they fix the problem.
We are in the process of switching to the top tier ISP UUNet. The switch should occur this week sometime and will be transparent to users.
If you are still having access problems now, exit to your DOS command prompt and type:
tracert www.envmgr.com
This will tell you if you can reach our sub-net and will often show you if and where a blockage is occuring. Let me know the results at [email protected].

Hi - I haven't been ignoring your advice but last night AW was down for me (so I couldn't access this thread) and this morning my cable was down. But everything is working tonight.
Anyway, as of this evening, I still can't access 'www.endicia.com'. I can access everything else just fine - this is the only site I seem to be having problems with.
I took your advice and this is what I got:
===========================================
Tracing route to www.envmgr.com [38.168.115.10] up to a maximum of 30 hops
1 * * * Request timed out
2 * * * Request timed out
.
.
30 * * * Request timed out
==========================================
Any suggestions??
While I'm at it, I will need to sign up for another service if I can't get this working rather quickly. I bought postage - how do I go about getting that refunded?
I think you may have been in touch with our technical support, but here's what we found out. Basically the local ISP servicing you disconnected our ISP PSINet!!! Here's what PSI Net says.
Location THE UNITED STATES and Offnet Connectivity
Problem Cable & Wireless chose to terminate connectivity with
PSINet on 2June01. Over 90% of the traffic that used to be
routed through C&W is now being routed via other means
through our robust global free peering infrastructure.
The
remaining 10% or so represents C&W customers that have
been
deliberately cut off from PSINet by C&W. While PSINet
is
ready and willing to re-establish connectivity with C&W
at
any time, it is up to C&W to choose to reverse their
previous decision. In the meantime, PSINet can offer
services directly to those C&W customers that are
affected.
Affects Connectivity to Cable & Wireless
Status PSINet Network Operations is working to restore service.

In a day or so, we will have secondary routing to our site using ISP UUNet. That *should* solve your problem!
