I just wanted to see if anybody else is experiencing a slow down in sales over the past couple of months on Ebay. My sales have went from selling almost everything I've listed, to selling just 1 or 2 items each week. With all the fees that are being charged with listings, I'm losing money instead of making money. Please let me know if anybody else is having this same problem...
(Maybe it has to do with the rise of gas, electricity; etc.)

Ditto. Don't know why, but ditto.

Big time ditto! The only reason anyone can come with that made sense to me was that there was a holiday weekend recently, schools are letting out, people are busy, etc. I expect seasonal slowdowns but sheesh almighty!

The sales patterns are tough to figure out. It varies almost weekly it seems. One thing I've learned is to never count out a sale until the auction ends, as a unheard of number of auctions are now being bid on with snipe utilities in the last few seconds of the auctions.

I sell in the antique and collectibles field. I sell only from first week of November to last week of April...that's it! Some of my items may sell during the rest of the year but likely at 30 to 40% less than than between Nov-April. I've been selling since mid 1997. I do sell in the antique toy train field year round since the "regulars" are always looking. I'm sure there are other categories where sales are consistent during the entire year. But when you have a variety, I stick to the time when I'm not competing against garage sales, flea markets, and other outdoor activities.

There's never a sure anything on eBay and summers are routinely slow everywhere. I'm planning on putting more stuff on Half as I don't like paying fees on what doesn't sell.

My sell-through percentage is lower, but the things that sell typically have more bidders. Go figure.

The past 2 weeks have slowed down a lot... I've had a verygood year up to this point, but now am out of my fast-moving inventory, and left with the slow moving low end stuff until my supplier can get more to me.. 8(

My auction bids have really slowed down this past few weeks. I wanted to list some fairly high items for me ( $ 10 -$ 40.00) and was looking over the past completed auctions and really noticed a trend on the items I was going to list ~ like from $ 10. 00 to $ 2.00 in the past couple of weeks from the beginning of the month~ DARE I list! I need the money or should I hold off and just sell junk. Trouble is with junk is that it doesn't really sell either! and then I get discourage. Oh well. on to a big scanning job in case I do decide to list. But I am glad that someone started this thread~ nice to hear of success stories but nice to hear that some others are having a slow down time. Suzanne

Usually summertime is slower but for some srange reason my sales have been a lot higher this spring. I have actually gotten a lot higher prices on some things that normally don't go that high. I think most people have the idea that summer is a slow time so they put their junk on then, but actually the winter is when almost anything will sell, even the junk, so it kind of stands to reason that you can sell your junk in the winter and sell your better stuff during the slow time. Works for me

Going pretty well here. I am listing more so I don't agonize as much over no-sales, just either relist or put on Amazon [I sell books] or even just discard.

About a month ago I started using higher minimums and as a result I feel like I get fewer bids, but I figure I'm already getting a good profit margin if I just get my minimum or my BIN, so I am going to continue with that strategy.
