Well, let's add one more charge that Paypal tacked onto all the others that they just added---they are now charging $1.50 for each check that you withdraw from your Paypal account? Where was I when they announced that one along with all the other fees that have now come into being?

Is it just me, or is this just another ploy to force users to give them their bank account number (because having them directly deposit into your account is still free)? I have used Paypal for the last year, but this is absolutely RIDICULOUS and I am thinking about dropping them entirely. What makes me the most angry I think is not even necessarily the fact that they began charging for sending checks without telling us beforehand, but the fact that direct deposit is still free and that it seems Paypal is trying to coerce us all into selling our souls to them and giving them every piece of personal info possible so they can completely control us.

What do you all think about this? Am I completely out in left field? I might be back at the good ole checks and money orders routine, because these fees are really starting to offset any additional profit I MIGHT be getting from offering Paypal services to prospective buyers. I know, I know---I shouldn't be over here whining, I need to quit my snivelin' and just DROP PAYPAL, don't I? How much more will we take before we all say NO MORE??? Thanks for your input and letting me rant.

PayPal had sent out emails telling of the $1.50 charge per check. I think I had received the initial email in April. I believe that it went into effect on 5/15. (do not remember exactly when) I agree with you that the new fees are becoming harder to deal with (especially if you deal with low price items) makes it not quite worth it all. I may be getting rid of it shortly myself. We will see how it goes.

1.50 for sending a check covers postage 34 cents,an envelope and check ,running the system on a computer to print the check and have it folded in an envelope and mail it and answer questions when check is lost, delayed ,stolen etc.
is it too much,it depends on the volume ??
stakes are rising for doing business in cyberpspace.
i wont be surprised if commercial checking account and merchant number will soon be required along with tax id,doing business as.
ever wonder why land retail shops mark up their merchandise higher??
if we dont know,we will soon find out why for ourselves??
