Hello:

I've been trying to do a comparison between paypal and billpoint. I wanted to print out the rates for both services and do some number crunching (ie what is the fee on both services for a $10. sale, a $50., $100, $300. sale).

But, it seems that BILLPOINT doesn't want us to see their rates. everytime I get to their rates page, it disappears in 1/2 second and I get an HTTP error.

PAYPAL's rate page shows a comparison that seems to be clearly in their own favor.

ANyone know the answer here? What are BILLPOINT'S rates? What are PAYPAL's current rates? thanks!

Same thing happens to me if I use Netscape, you need to use Explorer to look at that site.

OK, I did the math. Here are the results:

AMT BILLPOINT PAYPAL

$15.00
$0.35 $0.30
$25.00
$0.91 $0.85
$100.00
$2.60 $2.50
$500.00
$11.60 $11.30
$1,000.00
$22.85 $ 22.30
$1,500.00
$34.10 $33.30
$2,000.00
$45.35 $44.30

So, if my arithmetic is correct, PAYPAL still wins. HOwever, I intend to use both services because the differences are miniscule and if my customer prefers one of the other, it still means getting my money faster (and perhaps more of it since plastic is an easy way for customers for buy something that they do not have cash for).

Now, did I once hear someone say that there is a service out there and does not charge the seller a fee?

BOTH PayDirect & C2It are FREE to sellers...However, whether or not they are any good is up for debate -- my opinion is still: wait & see!

yes, but you based it on paypal's current fee, NOT the new, higher fee that goes into effect on June 29.

they'll have the 30 cents + 2.2% on any transaction, no matter what the source of the funds or the amount.

I just signed up for BidPay and am also going to take a look at C2It, and PayDirect. Changed all of my templates too, last night for upcoming auctions. They also might start charging in the future and as long as they notify me, and give me the opportunity to decide before the fees go into effect, instead of trying to slide the fees in like a thief in the night like some online payment services, I would go with fees. That is what makes the difference with me. The honesty of their intentions.
