Can someone look at my auction #1154149611 and tell me if the pictures are showing up.

They show up and then they don't and I am getting confused

Thanks

Before you end it and relist, right-click on the blank box and look at the URLs for the pictures. If the URL is correct but the pictures aren't showing up, just relisting won't help. You need to find out WHY the pictures aren't showing up.

they're showing up now.

it's not the pics, it's geocities. relisting won't help it. remember geocities is part of yahoo. They generally have problems on Sundays.

This one goes beyond general Geocities problems. When I looked at my auctions this morning, everything was fine. When I checked them this afternoon, all the pics were missing!

I checked my geocities account, and all 400+ of my pictures were gone! All Gone!

I have since re-uploaded them onto my personal website, but unfortunately I did not back up the 100 or so pictures I took yesterday, and today it is raining (figures). That also doesn't help for the auctions that already have bids, because I can to revise, I can only add to the description.

But that auction in particular was very important, because it is one of the rarest items I have ever listed. I just had to pay the $9.00 in relisting fees again. Hopefully it meets the reserve so I get them back.

did you click under the images tab on geocities?? They've redone their file manager. I thought my pics were gone once too.

I don't have an images tab. They are definately deleted, because it is warning me that I have no index.html.

Also this is a dead giveaway down in the lower left corner:

[b]Disk Space Usage[b]
Used:
0 bytes
Available:
0 bytes
Total Allocated:
0 bytes

Nope, they are gone.

Thanks Geocities!

Kinda makes AW look halfway decent. At least they warn you before deleting your pics.

did you have an index to begin with??

yeah, I did. It didn't have anything on it, but it was there (just a blank white page)

But not anymore.

Guess I am going to have to do a massive re-photographing next week.

At least I remembered to write down the filename and description of each picture, so it will be easier to remember what has to be photographed.

was the index one that you created or was it the default?? If it is the default that yahoo/geocites gives you, they'll delete all your files for "inactivity."

it's an automative system thing. There's some fine print about it when you start the site. No actual person does it, it's all computerized.

Great. More fine print.

Oh well, they were unreliable anyway, and when I would upload pics, they would screw them up. I know enough places to store images that I don't need them.

Good riddance to Geocities.
