I've been off the boards for most of the last few days helping the little old ladies of Lake Anne Fellowship House with their Annual Attic & Treasure Sale. I'll post a thread on that tomorrow.
The "Help Make eBay # 2" (by making ourselves # 1) concept is taking hold and I wanted to share a few of the happening. I will share more details in the next day or two by this is a summary.
We have the iPeoplePower URL and the design of a web site has started.
A bank account has been opened and the forming of a non-profit has been discussed with lawyers.
I purchased the 8 ft. Roman Warrior Lamp Post and will put it up for auction after our web page is open, as a fund raiser and attention getter for the cause. (Now 8 ft. as we also got a base to go under the 6 ft statue.)
A very experienced IT CEO has offered to host a hearing of our idea with a small circle of his business assoc. If they like it the may help.
Initial contact make with SBA for SCORE consultants.
Have received many offers of help from individuals and support expressed by organizations.
Got a security co. who will oversee those issues.
Thrashing around at a Tech. Fair I bumped into a Federal Govt law enforcement Inspector. We sat down on a computer and I brought up this board to show the problems we face in getting response to fraud. (There is a thread about "convicted seller back on eBay" several days back. He promised to arrange a contact here. Well see.
Had a conversation with the wrong guy ( it's not his job )from a internet provider that's looking to increase their classifieds and maybe add auctions. If he follows thru with his New Business Development people it may mean a commercial ally.
There's more but at least this lets you know we are facing in the right direction and starting to move.
More soon and please bear with me if I'm slow in responding to your emails.
Edited to add. Yes I know there are a few typos but I'm a little tired tonight so please just make the best of it.

This information is new to me, but I wanted to say that the statue auction sounds like a neat way to generate interest in the website. I think you will get a lot of people to visit your new site because of the uniqueness of it. Good luck.
wow. that's a lot of work in very little time. i'm impressed!
when i first read your idea, there was someone i know who immediately came to mind who just might be interested. or knows someone who i think would be a natural. thought about directing him here to read about it for himself, but next time i came to read the thread, you'd already had plans to take it around. if you'd like to email me about it, please do.
