Please can someone tell me what widgets are. I am a little new at auction selling, and I came across some "widgets" sites. The dictionary doesn't explain it too well.
I would love to know just what they are, they seem to sell really well on ebay, wish I had some.
Most of what I can figure out so far from the definition...something undiscribable with no name..So got any good "widgets" that I should be on the lookout for?
I have a lot of tools and junk that I inheirited from my dad....don't know what they are..maybe their "widgets".
Appreciate any help....

Actually, there IS such thing as a "widget". Gillette makes it, and it's usually yellow plastic thing about 3-4" tall with a razor blade at the end. I've usually seen them used to scrape paint off of windows.

EG, you are probably right, but for 99.9% of the posts we see about widgets, my definition is more "correct" than yours.

Thanks so much for clearing that up folks ....so a widget you can either shave with it, or scrape windows? Well what is the best whatjamacallit, or thingamagigy to look for? If I was to happen to come across a widgetmagigy or widgetmacallit, would I know it if I saw it, or if it jumped out at me?

Kind of like snipe that you hunt - a shadowy illusionary myth. Gadget is too main line.
A gizmo is similar. Like the word shucks when we are not talking the discarded husks of plants. Whatever you make it out to be. It fits in some sentances better - Like widget works.
