I am planning on putting as many items as I can in mine.I will still run auctions too but not as many as I normally would have. Not until fall anyhow.I have already started buying items for Christmas to sell on E-bay,I sell alot of new items.I also go to an indoor Flea Market for the winter.

How do you plan to drive traffic to your eBay Storefront? I've found most users don't even bother with the website links I put on my auction ads. Does anyone even click on the About Me link? Here's where your marketing ability can really pay dividends!

eBay may charge you to submit your Storefront URL to search engines. There's a long lagtime before sites appear in search results, however if eBay can work out deals to expedite the process it might be worth whatever they charge. They may even charge you for a standard .com alias for your Storefront. Of course they'll also be sure to charge you for a Featured Storefront listing ... but paying for visibility on the main page of the eBay Mall may not be a bad idea if you have a lot to sell. I've got to find stuff quick!

An integrated search engine for the entire eBay Mall could help but when will that be implemented?

If I'm listing stuff on ebay, whether it's an auction or a storefront, I'm paying ebay to drive traffic to my listings. If I'm not getting enough bids to, at the very least, cover costs then I won't list.

Put it another way. If I have to drive my own traffic, I may as well do it at my own website and not pay ebay for what I'm doing myself.

Free to start and $10.00 per month thereafter. Ya gotta at least TRY IT for a few months! If it's a dog, quit and you're only out a few bucks.

Went that route on Amazon. It was called ZShops. It worked beautifully. Stuff sold like crazy.

The only problem was that it killed the auctions.

I was thinking like on t-shirts where E-bay makes me list an auction for each size and color I run that I could put up one for auction and if they wanted a different size or whatever go to my storefront. A lot of my customers want to see everything I carry in Firefighter shirts for example and they like to buy several at one time to save on shipping.I think thats where a storefront will help alot of sellers.

Heygrape...were the Zshops searchable in the same search engine that one used to search the auctions?

amy--It's been so long since I've used Amazon, I can't remember. Maybe someone who is currently listing there will come along to answer that question.

Do we know for sure that Storefronts will even be searchable by internet search engines? The core eBay site can't be searched that way.

At Amazon, you can search by category (books, auctions, electronics, zShops) or search ALL.
If you search ALL, it brings up results from every category.

I'm definitely planning on trying it. I think it will work well for me. I'll still run some auctions, but mostly for the books that I think have a chance of getting multiple bids. The stuff I don't expect to sell for more than the opening bid will go into the store.

And as for how much traffic eBay generates for my website and About Me page -- well, almost all of my website traffic is from eBay, and it's substantial. I can't track the About Me traffic in the same way, but I get a lot of hits there too.

I like the stores idea. I think it'll be good for my business... and that's my bottom line. If I thought it was a bad business move, I wouldn't even consider it.

Let me ask two probably stupid questions.
#1 for 5 cents a listing the items have no expiration and can sit until they are sold (plus fvf's)?
#2 Will my items show up on a search done from Ebay's front page?
If the answer to both are yes I will try it.

When you list it runs for 30 days.I'm not sure about the search thing.I want to say the storefronts have a separate seach.

if stores are open for business on 6.18,then why are there so many unanswered questions on search?
listing 5 cents is good for 30 days only, not forever.
there will be a separte hub for ebay stores.
i would think they will finetune the search to include stores if one wants it that way.
but one interesting point is the ebay rule of excluding outside search engines,if it applies to stores, then ebay stores are at the mercy of the auction, anyone can check your price and lower the auction starting bid and your item will just sit there, wasting your nickel unless scarcity is an issue.
may be thats why it is a nickel for 30 days, you pay nickel to ebay to be the wallflower of the month!!!!!!

Can you use Mr. Lister to list in the storefronts?
