If your going to complain, that you are tired of seeing people complaining, stop reading and stop complaining.
Yep it took 5 days for them to respond to me with a page and a half canned response that didn't even come close to answering the question. Well I guess it did, basically what they are and always have said is we don't care, after all you are the seller and we have enough of those.
If a buyer or seller breaks the TOS of the auction, per ebay rules the buyer and seller are bound by the rules of the auction TOS, they have broken ebays user agreement.
Well no surprise here, per the response I got from eBay they don't care if the buyer breaks the sellers TOS, I wonder what they would say if I broke my TOS?
I have a buyer that sent a check and because I don't take PayPal(well at the time she sent the check I wasn't and now that they are raising the fees I wont again next week, ain't this fun!) she says that she is going to neg. me if I hold her items the 15 days for checks that I state in the auction. Now I didn't make her send a check, I do use paydirect and she knew that. To start making demands the way she has and the number of emails she has sent I almost neged her already for not following the TOS of the auction.
This kind of goes along with the buyer that sent their TOS after the end of the auction that was floating around here a few weeks back. By making demands post sale the buyer has violated the TOS and ebays user agreement that clearly states that both are bound by the TOS of the auction.
I really wish that someone could explain how a person violating the TOS of the auction in this manner is any different than the person that put links in there auctions, or has a button that is large than 88x33 pixels. eBay wants us to turn in everyone of those dirty dogs but they could care less if a buyer violates their user agreement by violation a sellers TOS.
all I got from eBay was a bunch of the same old stuff about the feedback system and if the person leaves a negative that people look at the whole feedback file not just the negatives. Also how you should always check everyone's feedback before you do this or that, give me a break. if feedback we so important they would have the positives neg. and neutrals listed after every name and they would have the number of times they have had to refund seller fees because the person has backed out of an auction.
I wish just once they would send something like this:
"I've skimmed over your email, first you should know really we don't care, we really never have and I think that canned response 3, 82, 59, 68 look pretty good and the might apply to your case. had I read your email and not skimmed over it I would probably know better but I have link violators to catch and the taskmaster just walked through the door . We know that you've seen these responses in the past so we wont bother sending them as we don't want to slow down our servers with more email than is totally 100% necessary, if you haven't figured it out yet you are not totally 100% necessary. If in the future you see anyone violating any of the rules we are hot on today, links to home pages, selling on the side, or what every you see on the announcement board this week please let us know. We understand that none of this pertains to you or your email but it would help us so much and we are so under staffed that we need every member to point out the violators and the violations that matter to us. with your help we can keep ebay safe! should you feel that you need to respond to this email we will be sending canned response 1, and 5.
well off to change my template again for the about the 6th time in 2 weeks

That's an interesting point, but I've never heard of ebay offering any kind if help in a case like this.
They won't even do anything in cases of blatant feedback extortion, which is usually what these kind of bidders wind up doing. (ie. do what I ask, or I'll neg you.)

actually I have an email from a old power seller support guy that says that feedback extortion is against their rules and will not be tolerated. one of those things it all depends who you get on the other end

ebay used to be more attentive to powersellers, but then there must be a lot more powersellers on ebay now then before?
most of the time they will send out thier first email from a database of canned answers, when they run out of canned answers, they may do a customs designed reply based on your situtaion.
the pace is so brisk on ebay ,it is not possible for these customer support personnel to sit infront of the pc and analyse every email and respond tailored to your case, also be very candid, they have seen so many cases of buyer seller squables,if it does not involve federal regulation, criminal justice or potential big damage to the ebay community, you are not going to get their special attention.
you mention you do not take paypal, then you would ,then now they raise fee,and you wont.
all these twists and turns are really within your own sphere of conductiing business and your own philosophy of doing business and you just have to handle the problems as they arise.being NEG is not the worset thing in the world, some retail stores get bombed or owner threatened with bodily injury or death threats by dissatisfied customers.
i think we are all awakening to the realities of running a retail business,e commerce is catching up with land commerce, ever wonder why retail markup is so much higher-well rent aint cheap, labor aint cheap, then comes breakage, shrinkage, chargebacks etc etc.
we are all finding these out gradually-location is where traffic is,no traffic no sale, but places where there is great traffic often ask for the highest rent-ebay,yahoo shop, amzn marketplace.
then comes competition, supply and demand drives prices down,we are listing more, selling less and making less.
cost of doing business is sure rising-better merchandise costs money to purchase, better cameras, better scanners, etc.
many of the wholesalers i talk to are rasing their requirement on open order, size of order in quanity and dollar amount.
for some of us who buy using our credit card,if item does not sell, that interest on cc balance is not a small amount, there is a limit of how much we can carry until we say enough is enough.
retail industry has always been ruthlessly competitive and casualty is always high,it is coming to cyberspace @@
one last note on negative feedback, a seller who has been selling for years and earn a feedback over 1000 has no negative feedback ,you cant help wondering if this is too good to be true or not??
