I have an auction running that states US Shipments Only. It is for a piece of art pottery that was originally made in France. A Frenchman has just emailed me wanting to bid. I really could use the money YESTERDAY! If I give him the go ahead, what is the fastest, safest way to get paid and to ship? I am signed up with PayPay (not the international version) and Billpoint and Bidpay. Thanks for any insight you can give.

I sold a Perrier bar light to a man in France. Paid lickety split and emailed me as soon as it arrived, within a week. Best international experience I have had so far.

Are the French people taxed heavily on antiques coming in and will want me to falsify the customs forms like so many (sorry! but very true in my experience)Canadians? This causes me to have to drive out of town to ship as I live in a small town. Not worth the guilt.

I would just make sure he knows your shipping terms before you give the go ahead. I just agreed to ship to someone in France and it turned out to be one of the most difficult sales ever. She wanted me to ship glass in an envelope, refused insurance, wanted me to lie on customs forms etc.. etc. Now I know why I don't ship international, guess I needed that special reminder.
