The beauty of the auction selling format is that the market values the product you are selling.

Why don't you place a listing for the computer at a starting bid that will cover your selling costs and allow the market to determine the value of your computer?

If it's valuable, you'll be able to tell by the bids you receive. Same goes if it's not.

I'd worry more about how well you can describe/picture it, does it still work, what accessories/manuals are included, etc.

How you list it often determines to a great deal how much it is "worth" on ebay.

I say this because the field of computer "collectibles" is pretty new and subject to significant fluctuations depending on who sees your listing.

I've sold in that Catagory (Vintage Computer), and you can never predict what will happen. Like others mentioned, alot depends on what other equipment it has with it, does it test good, manuals, software, and even if it has the original box(es). Take good pictures, list EVERYTHING that comes with it (or spin some of it off into other auctions), and write a good discription.

Does it still have it's original crank to make it run.

The crank was the standard model- if you have the G Version with the Guinea Pig Drive you may have something.

Dang. You musta' been one of dem rich folks. We couldn't afford no guinea pigs. That would have been dinner for all ten of us and leftovers for school lunches.

lowprofile,

Do a search under "trs-80 ii" and you will see an auction that might help. If you list it, I would use both numbers and letters(i.e. "2" and "ii" ) in your title. That way, you'll probably get everyone who's looking for one of these!

Good luck!

Without eBay, I might have a real life...

Wow! And you can advertise that it's eBay compatible. Both use buggy software!

Wow, this bring back memories! We had both a Trash 80 Model 1 & 2 when I was growing up! I remember getting all excited because one of them had 64k in memory! We had the cassette drive for programs & the plug in games. My friends thought we were so lucky because we had a computer! haha
