Yep that's right, just got a email that says that they are going to remove me as powerseller if I don't get my numbers up. I wonder if all my posting and voting made them take a look at my standings? I was the second highest feedback person, only to Bob, to bid on the protest auction only a day or two ago, makes you think.
They are right however, I have been listing less and the stuff I have listed has been selling less, so I know I don't qualify for the silver powerseller program anymore. $10,000 a month in sales is hard to keep up when you have to keep up with the ever changing rules and you try to do it before the dead line unlike several other sellers that are still in violation of their rules almost 3 weeks later. And trying to make since of what they are saying is impossible at times, on the letter it says that I have 30 days to get my numbers up and near the bottom of the letter it says they will review my standing in the next quarter
One seller that posts easily over 25,000 listing a month still has links in his auctions that when you click on the auction takes you to the same item on their site that is listed on ebay for just .05 more. Ok by the old rules not the new ones. They have over 20,000 feedback 4250+ auctions listed now and as large as they are, they are a big target to be turned in, I haven't and wont turn in anyone but I'm sure ebay knows about them. I've been watching the seller for the last month, they were even written about on the Wednesday report, if I can post a link to the site I will.
In the letter is say"ebay members recognize the powerseller Logo and the exceptional service and products they provide" then why do several of the people that display the logo(I never have except on my me page and the link has been broke for a year) Most of the people that post over here say that if they see a PS logo they run for the hills. Several of the people that do have it in their auctions when I check their feedback, many don't meet their minimum requirements on feedback but hay they are gold powersellers so I guess that is what is important right, is it just all about the money, the more ebay makes from the seller the more lax they seem to be at enforcing the rules for that seller.
silver powerseller so what have I received?
Special Email address? YES
PowerSeller T-shirt for my wife and me? YES
Break in fees? NO
800 phone support? NO
Faster email support? NO*
PowerSeller email from ebay? sometimes
Free software to manage your auctions? NO**
Specials negotiated with other companies? NO
Show of concern when my listing slows or stops? NO (ok that might be asking a little much)
*(the last time I emailed PS support it took 5 days for them to respond with a canned response)
**(in the letter they even suggest that I use software to manage my auction and suggest their software of course with a link, now find me software that does a good job with the other auction sites........)
now I know there are more I just can't think of them right now.
now there have been times in the beginning when powerseller support was extremely helpful, they use to bend the rules a little(not break them) to help their customers(sellers) and if you push, and push, and push, and push(yes at least that much) they sometimes will still help you out. Note that is sometimes, it all boils down to the luck of the draw, as in will the person you draw this time care to help you.
Not sure what I will do, I had planed on listing my butt off last month then they made all the changes. We use to list 1000 auctions at any given time but ebay has step by step ended auctions for no reason, or changed their rules so many times that we have never been able to, or I guess wanted to catch up. Still looking for a regular JOB at least when I find one, or start my heating and cooling business again, we can stop eating ebay stew, heck we may even get to eat out again some day.

airguy -- I'm sure you're a great seller, but eBay's claim that "ebay members recognize the powerseller Logo and the exceptional service and products they provide" is hyperbole!!
I see no benefit to me as a buyer to purchase from a powerseller. I think the logos are pretentious and most sellers that use them take up more space with the logo and terms than they do describing the item....

I filled out a "questionnaire" and it had just a few questions on it. one was what is your t-shirt size and what it your spouses size, it also had something about our birthdays if I remember right, so if you never filled it out I doubt if you would get a shirt. anyway I said on the form that I was a 3x and my wife a 2x, no we are not that big but I wanted something we could wash.
So a few weeks after my birthday I get a bag in the mail from ebay, Cool it's a power seller t-shirt, pull it out of the bag oh it's a small. I email power seller support, nothing...one day I'm on the phone with support and I ask about the shirt the next week we had two that fit.

I rember filling out the form you mention when initially signing up as a powerseller. Just haven't recieved the shirts yet. Perhaps Meg listed them in auction...

This email was just another form of SPAM from ebay. I got it too and trashed it because that is what it is. I've seen no benefit whatsoever being in the powerseller program-so take me off, I make more on my website anyway and have a lot less hassle.

Hopefully one day I'll get my sales up high enough to get E-Bay to send me a free dog bowl,of course if I ever get a dog I won't be able to feed it because I'll be paying all my money out in fees. What's a Seller to do?!
