I'm trying to sell a few boxes of old 78 records for an elderly gentleman. Any particular artists or labels I should look for to sell on Ebay? Some are the early one-sided and larger "Victor Talking Machine" ones. Thanks for your help!

I don't have specific artists or labels, but I've heard that early regional blues recordings are where the money's at in 78s. That and very early rock and roll. Best thing to do is list your artists, then check Ebay's closed auctions to see how those 78s are selling. If you're not familiar with the artist's work, the All Music Guide is a very helpful source for finding basic information about the artist:

Unfortunately, many 78s don't sell that well on ebay for a number of reasons, not the least of which is because they are very fragile and difficult to ship without breakage. The few that I've sold, I've had to ship like fine china - in an oversized box, wrapped in bubble wrap, filled with peanuts. I'd do some research on the closed auctions and see what's selling well - if the artists you have aren't bringing in some decent bucks, it's really not worth the effort. Sell the best ones on ebay, then take the rest to a flea market (at least the buyers don't have to worry about shipping damage there). Good luck!
