Anyone else noticed a little trouble with Half.com lately?

Things seemed to be getting a little slow the past week, but now I find that I have still not received those 'You've Made A Sale' emails from sales made over 24 hours ago. Is it just me? I'm missing about 8 emails now.

Not a big problem, I just check my account page and confirm from there, but the trick is to remember to keep checking.

My concern is that they took a lesson from Big Brother and added all those new categories without increasing capacity to handle the additional listings and traffic.

I do believe you have hit the nail on the head. I inquired about those missing emails and was answered, but they said "just check your account periodically." I find that annoying.

speculation was that the system really bogs down about the time direct deposits are being processed and sent out.. dunno if that plays a part in it or not. I haven't made many half.com sales, but I still check regularly throughout the day, just as Ido on Ebay - because I don't trust the email system of notifying me of sales.

Ya, half.com can be slow with its emails. Sometimes emails show up in the wrong order. The earliest sale shows up last. The lateness of there emails I am sure has a large effect on some peoples confirm time. If they just sit back and wait, rather than going into there account & checking themselves. Half.com has other fundamental problems that should concern people. Has anyone else noticed how many things they have missed labeled. Books they have as Hardcovers when the ISBN is for a PB. Or the wrong book all together. We notify them when ever we find these mistakes, which is quite often. I notice that Half.Com has never notified us that they have changed the classification of books we have listed though!

I've noticed that too - I put in the IBSN on some books I found I have extras of, and found the one in the system is a different copyright year than the one I have.

Thanks all. I finally got all of my emails, but so glad I didn't rely on this, and started checking my account whenever I could remember.

I agree with the above, half.com has many fundamental problems, deficiencies, downright shortsightness of the developers.

I sold all my unwanted CDs on half about a year ago, and didn't touch it again until this April when they added trading cards. Despite all the complaints I'm tempted to make about this site, I must admit I am very pleased at how easy it is for me to list and actually Sell an attic-full of unwanted "collectibles".

Hopefully, they will continue to improve the features and the *functionality*.

Ya, Half.com is an easy way to sell. I just hope it stays that way. If they control the problems they have now it will be great. If those problems get out of control it will fall apart.
