I just been had for $500.00~ I admit greed had a big part of it, but the false assurances of Verified ID/Inssurance have played a major role in my bidding on that item. Ebay has NARU'd the seller, but will not accept my Inssurance claim until 30 days are past. What a trip, they already know the seller is a Fraud, but you can't do anything until 30 days.
Learned my expensive lesson, will not bid on any new seller unless they accept CC directly or COD the product.
I am writing this hopefully people who bid on ebay know that, crocks are learking there and if you have the patience and time, may be, and that's a strong may be you'll recover a portion of your money.
And that's my 2 cents that cost me $500.00~
The bootom line, unless the scam gets into the national headlines, all you get is Caveat Emptor.

trueuser: That's just terrible that you're out the $500.00 and feeling so helpless because you can't file an insurance claim for 30 days!!
There must be a way to move forward with a claim in the event the user has already been NAUR'd. (also.. you're aware - aren't you? - that the insurance offered at eBay has a $25.00 deductible and caps out at $200.00, so that's not going to be much relief for you regarding your $500.00) *sigh*
What is your eBay user I.D.??
(If you don't mind sharing that info here... OR you can eMail me at [email protected])
I'd be curious to know (or try to find out) what kind of REAL recourse might be available for someone in your situation.
