I've noticed that some of the auctions have little photos of the item on the title line. Anyone know what these are called and how I can put them on my auctions? Does it cost extra (probably a stupid question..). Thanks...

I think those photos are the thumbnail photos of the eBay picture hosting service. The first photo is free ( not much free at eBay anymore ).

Those photos are "gallery" photos, that costs 25 cents to add to your auction.

jema,
No they are not gallery photos.
I list all my pics in the gallery and I don't have them.

I think bidsbids is correct, they show up if you use their photo service.

But, I think that since we do pay for gallery we should get one too.

Often my gallery pic is a little different then my pics listed on the auction.

I've never tried eBay's picture hosting, I heard it was real crummy.

Packer, yes, they are gallery photos. I just put one in an auction. It costs 25 cents to do.

rev,
I think what blueyes is talking about is the little thumbprint pic in the corner right IN the auction page.

Is that right blueyes?

bidsbids is right on the money. Comes up free when you use ebay pic service. Alright to use if you don't mind an occasional glitch. It is ebay, after all. Nice touch, but program is erratic.

The little photos are on the title line of the auction...on the left hand side. They're not gallery photos because I've included "gallery" on several of my auctions and the little photos don't show up on my auction page. So, must be what others have said and be part of eBay photo service. Thanks to all...but believe I'll stick with the AW image host (it's just SOOOO easy) and just have to do without the little title-line photo.

Isn't it funny when Gallery first started they said the selling rate for Gallery items was 25-75% higher now it is 8%. How far have we fallen maybe they should reduce the fee paid for gallery, an option I never use.

Yeah, that little pic next to the title is from eBay's Picture Hosting service. The 1st pic is free. I always use external links to images in my auction ads since I typically use multiple pics that I want to control placement of within tables. However, I always toss the best pic into the free eBay Picture Hosting box to get that little thumbnail pic that also appears in search results.
