Well the unexpected happened, Ebay suspended my account for 30 days for selling lawn darts three times within the last 6 months. All my auctions were taken down, fees refunded and now I sit. Thanks Ebay

Lawn darts! You get what you deserve. We've killed 4 out of our 5 dogs with lawn darts, and it's all your fault.

You're selling lawn darts and you have to come here to ask why you were suspended? How can you sleep at night .. listing lawn darts .. what WERE you thinking!

How bizarre!

Hehe I wonder what they will ban next? You can always try selling them on yahoo, or one of the free sites.

eBay didn't have to ban them, they are illegal to sell anywhere.

To answer lovemy2bear's question, metal-tipped lawn darts (jarts) were federally banned several years ago due to many very ugly accidents and some deaths of children. The new plastic-tipped ones are no fun, so a good set of the old ones is valuable. To others: this is not an ebay thing- it is a federal ban on the sale of them.

I used to love playing with these things when I was a kid.

Tis a shame that a whole generation is growing up not knowing what real toys are.

Several children were killed and horribly injured by them until their sale was banned. The follow-on wussy plastic-tipped ones are no fun. Yes we used to play with BB guns, arrows, rocks, knives, etc. but these things really caused some damage. BTW, photogeyk: I guess your comment means that every 20 seconds a woman is conceiving. Wow!

Hey - I have some JARTS in my store room! What am I to do with them?

Sould I cruise on down to some street corner in the seedy part of town and hawk them to rich kids driving in from the surburbs and looking for cheep thrills?

Isn't that what usually happens to Federally Banned items?

Maybe competing gangs of fustrated ebayers can start staking out monopoly turf on which to sell all these (and other) ebay banned items!

If sales turn out to be brisk, these things can be produced and smuggled in from South America. Or perhaps some more enterprising citizens can manufacture Jarts in their attics under grow lights...

Well, I guess that's pretty funny, but I live with the memory of a friend's little boy with a jart in his head. So seeing where this thread is going, I must say good night. I do hope your children are safe tonight from the many things that have been rightfully banned.

I am a paramedic by trade and i can tell you without a doubt that no toys of this nature should be played with without the supervision of an adult, and by far most of the calls i get for children with the type of injuries i have researched about this toy were UNSUPERVISED so dont preach about toys that should be banned if the parents are not going to watch thier kids.

Notwithstanding all the comments about the safety issues/illegality of selling these items, I think it's pretty skanky of eBay to suspend ONE seller when there are still auctions running selling the exact same thing. It took me about 2 seconds to find these other auctions; why haven't THEY been suspended? Seems to me that if eBay is going to suspend one member for selling an illegal item, they ought to run a quickie search and yank 'em all off! Fair is fair.
