I am so ticked off right now!
I cancelled my Billpoint account months ago but just received another BP payment - what is up with that? They must still have all my info on file as the notice I received stated that the payment was deposited into my checking account, is that legal? And also, on the auction page is their Billpoint payment box, how can they do that? It's not on any of my other closed auctions, is the box inserted after a customer pays through BP?
I fired off an e-mail to customer support a few minutes ago, does anyone have a phone # for BP?
Aargh!!! Just one more stupid, crappy thing to have to deal with today!

yes when your not a member of billPoint the Billpoint logos are add to the page at the end of the Auction the buyer still has the option to offer payment this way.
But you should have received a billpoint payment request email stateing your buyer would like you to send then a billpoint invoice frist not a notice you were paid.

dman-- I'm not sure what you mean, but I've never had any billpiont logos attach themselves to any of my closed auctions ever. I am not a member. I would also be furious, as tootsiepop mentioned, if I found billpoint logos on my auctions, especially if I had specifically requested that the account be closed!

I checked all my closed auctions for the past week and this was the only one with the Billpoint box inserted, which is why I'm assuming it was inserted when my customer paid via BP.
I did not receive a pmnt request e-mail, only a payment notification e-mail. It said in part -
This e-mail confirms that xxx has recently paid for the item xxx, item #xxx.
Billpoint will deposit payment for the item into your checking account according to the deposit schedule shown on the Deposits page of your My Billpoint account.
When I attempted to log into my BP account I was told the account was closed!

Read the end of auction notice that ebay sends out (when they get around to it). If you had a billpoint account, they might be doing the same thing for the eoa notices in your auctions as they do in mine. The eoa notice is worded in a way that might make the novice bidder think that ebay is instructing them that they have to make their payment with billpoint. They have been doing this for a couple of months now.

Recently, eBay has automatically checked the 'accept Billpoint payments' boxes when you relist items whether you normally accept Billpoint or not. You have to manually uncheck them or they show up in your auction(s). I think that truly sucks and is very sneaky. I do not accept Billpoint and have no plans to, ever.

Thanks for the above information. I hadn't noticed them automatically adding it to my auctions by default. I just went to all my auctions that don't yet have bids and successfully revised them. The logo is now gone. I am registered with Billpoint to make things easier for the occasional international bidder, but prefer not to use them otherwise. Thanks again!
