I think that haveing your auctions end late on Sunday the 8th is worth .10 over anytime Thursday the 5th

You got that right! This is one time it's worth spending that extra dime for the extra 3 days. Ending on or near the 4th is committing virtual suicide for your listing. Anything shorter and you're running up against the problems of a dead week for bidding. JMHO
Besides this is a chance to list all your expensive items that would get hit with $1+ listing fees for free. You can also experiment by listing questionable sellers at no cost. I've had a lot of crap that I've never had any luck selling --- here's a another free chance to try and sell them!
Edited to correct auction ending days.

I'm a little confused: why is it such a bad thing for an auction to end on or near the 4th? Isn't that when most people are OFF work? Even if I had a busy day scheduled with family, etc., I would find some time on a day off to browse eBay that I would not normally get if I were at work. Just a thought...

I was making new auctions so fast last night I have no idea if they are even correct. I have some new items in and some slow movers so I thought this would be a good time to test them out.
I know, it is not a real test since they are crappy days but if I sell one more than I would of it was all free right.
I still want to know if we get free relist if the item sells the second time. that would be too great! I would have basically free listings for another month.

I don't understand the initial post on this topic... Are listings free on eBay that end on Sunday the 8th???? If not, what does the end date have to be, etc. ???
