With McDonald's on one street corner - no competition - they do $1M.

When Burger King moves across the street, within one year, both operations do $2M - gross sales.

eBay, within the auction venue, only gets 64% of the market - that was on CNN. Yet, the auction market has increased by 149% during the past 12-mos. (CNN)

If Gegy, bargainandhaggle, and others promote their sites...they'll grow.

If we, as sellers, include info with our end of auctions confirmations about where we list...that'll help.

I've noticed a migration of buyers to other sites. Once they're comfortable with eBay, they begin to explore - timing is good...

any thoughts...

Next you'll be saying that Linux is increasing Microsoft profits.

If this held true, then why haven't any of the other auction sites taken off?

It isn't like GEGY is the first competition that eBay has encountered

I am sure it won't be the last either.

I don't disagree. This may fail.

However, much of my income comes from the internet auctions. Watching the horizon and changes coming my way is important.

This venue is still in the crawling stage. for me, it's daily learning process. Even if I don't agree or even believe it will have success, I'm unsure. Thus, I'll explore it.

These chat lines offer tremendous insights. And thank you for offering your thoughts.

Absolutely. I will watch it also, and probably even test the waters a bit. But I will not put all my faith in it.
