What do you think? I had a buyer send this email.
"Please leave positive feed back for the ######## I was the high
bidder on. I received notice you had received payment over a week ago.
Since I have fulfilled my obligations please leave the feedback as soon as
you can."
When I explained that the transaction was not complete and that his check had not yet cleared, this is the reply I received.
"Well, I didn't expect such a detailed response. Leave the feedback when the
transaction is complete. I don't care. Just don't forget to do so. As far
as my check goes, I am sure you should have no worried about that #####
dollars clearing. Are you shipping UPS, FedEx, or USPS?"
How do you feel about bidder demanding feedback. Personally I feel like it is bad auction etiquette. I realy didn't care for the part about "just don't forget to do so".

Although I am NOT one to withhold feedback, I believe that there are some instances that dictate caution. This may be one of them and I certainly would not leave any sort of feedback until I think the check has cleared. Perhaps not even until the buyer has first done so since this person is clearly not entirely stable.
As for the original question, it is beyond tacky to demand feedback. It would be like someone telling me I HAVE to do something. I'll be damned if I do it at that point.
Best of luck with this buyer!

no..............I didnt mean you were grouchy! I meant the buyer was grouchy! I was being sarcastic when I said Feedback: recieved payment, waiting for check to clear I think the buyer is being a little on the demanding side, just as you said!

thanks sharkbaby:
I think that would be wise too. I normally leave feedback first, but this is one time when I think I'll let them make the first move.

I emailed them explaining why I wont leave feedback yet, and they emailed me an explaination why they requested feedback so soon.
"one time I had a terrible experience and I did not want to leave the
feedback before the seller did because I feared retaliation. On my part I
had did everything right, sent payment post haste, responded to e-mails,
etc... however they had not accurately described the piece as a married
piece. I wanted this reflected in my feedback but was quite honestly afraid
to do so for fear they would give me a neg. response as well." They didn't say weather or not they tried to work things out with the seller or not.
They haven't received my item yet, but basically they may want leave negative feedback if they don't like it, but they want to make sure they don't get a neg in return.

Dear Crankypants,
Thank you for your email. Due to the high number of psychos that frequent eBay during the summer, I usually wait about 30 days to leave feedback. Of course, sometimes I forget to do so because I'm just a lame brained seller who needs your rude butt telling me how to run my business.
When you receive your item and are happy with it, please let me know by leaving me the best feedback you've ever left anybody.
