To call the percentage charged by Billpoint, PayPal, or any other payment service a FVF is incorrect and can lead to much confusion. These companies collect service charges, which are always based on the total amount of money being transferred from buyer to seller. This includes item purchase price, shipping, handling, insurance, etc.

Was just about to say the same thing. Paypal/Billpoint base nothing on the FVF.
You could sell an item for $25 total and the guy could send you a check for $15 and Paypal for $10 (not that you would). Paypal would charge you on the $10 which was not the FVF.

And just to clearly state ebay's policy, their FVF is based solely on the final bid amount, not at all on shipping, handling, etc.
Which is why they have a "fee avoidance" policy about having, say, a bid of $1 and "shipping and handling fee" of $50, since some sellers have tried to reduce their ebay fees by "shifting" some of their payment from bid amount to S&H fee...

the FVF you pay to paypal & billpoint does include shipping cost since the buyer pay bid price and shipping to you as there total cost.
Auction watch only gets there Fees based on the winning bid price only not shipping inless your offering free shipping.
your buyer use there credit cards with paypal, billpoint and other to pay there total amount which includes there shipping.
so you may pay the few extra pennies in FVF depending on your buyer total owed
