I did not see this posted yet, I am sorry if it is duplicate.

I just received this from PayPal:

Dear PayPal Member,

You are receiving this email because eBay™ may have changed your seller preferences without contacting you.

As we notified you last week, hundreds of PayPal members who sell on eBay called us to report an apparent "bug" in the eBay re-listing process. It appeared that this "bug" was inserting UNAUTHORIZED BILLPOINT LOGOS into re-listed auctions.

Since that time, unauthorized Billpoint logos have also begun to appear in new listings. And eBay representatives are now calling this problem a "feature" rather than a "bug."

The source of confusion is that eBay has changed the default preferences for all sellers who have ever opened a Billpoint account. If you are such a seller, the new preferences automatically insert Billpoint logos into your auctions, even if you do not wish to accept Billpoint.

Unauthorized Billpoint logos can result in confused buyers using Billpoint to pay you, and this in turn can hurt your bottom line:

CHARGEBACKS -- Billpoint payments are not protected against buyer chargebacks, while money sent through PayPal is covered under our Seller Protection Policy.
HIGHER FEES -- Payment for most items costs more to receive through Billpoint than with PayPal.
CASH BACK REWARDS -- Sellers who advertise only PayPal in their auctions receive 1.5% cash back on their purchases with the PayPal Debit Card, a benefit that unauthorized Billpoint logos can deprive you of.
UNNECESSARY DELAYS - PayPal payments are instant, whereas Billpoint payments take days to hit your account balance.
PayPal recommends that all sellers check their auction listings for unauthorized Billpoint logos. If you have never opened a Billpoint account, you are likely to be safe from this problem. (However, new sellers should be aware that eBay now opens a Billpoint account in your name during the eBay account creation process unless you specifically opt out.)

If unauthorized Billpoint logos have been inserted into your auctions, there are some quick and easy steps you can take to prevent this from happening again:

UPDATE YOUR EBAY SELLING PREFERENCES
The next time you use the Sell Your Item form to list an item, be sure to de-select the Billpoint online payments option, and then check the "remember my selling preferences" box before submitting your auction. Unfortunately, if you use a bulk lister, this option may not be available to you.

CLOSE YOUR BILLPOINT ACCOUNT
The only sure way to protect yourself from future unauthorized Billpoint logos is to close your Billpoint account. Customers report to us that this results in all Billpoint logos being automatically removed, even from items that have bids.
(This choice has the added advantage of sending a message to eBay that you do not like having your preference changed without your consent.)
If we learn of additional information about this problem from our customers or from eBay, we will share it with you immediately. If you need help in modifying your auctions, we recommend that you submit an inquiry to eBay customer service using their online form: http://pages.ebay.com/help/basics/select-support.html.

Thank you for making PayPal the world's #1 online payment service.

Sincerely,

The PayPal Auctions Team

Did I laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember when we all started sending WBNs from PayPal and we did not ask for them.

I guess they have a short term memory.

Well, I thought it was funny.

It least Billpoint won't let even the most confused buyer make a billpoint payment in your name if you don't have a billpoint account. If Paypal would quit doing this, they would save me some grief.

The featue was live for 8 hours (Thursday early morning to around 8am) and then it came down due to the messaging issues and there was a techincal problem with one aspect of the feature.

"Bug" or "technical problem"... you decide.
