I just sold the "Mother of all Rain Lamps"
It is a double huge heavy hanging lamp, that will not come apart to ship. I have had it for a couple of years, because I knew I couldn't ship it. I stated in the auction that I would not ship it, explaining the above and said if I could get it boxed, I wouldn't even be able to lift the box, with the added weight. And could not get it in my car. I got inquiries about would I consider shipping, and responded that the only way this would be shipped is if they arranged for it to be picked up and shipped. shipping. The auction just ended, I wrote the guy wanting to know when he wanted to pick it up. He lives in New York, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. He wants to know how to go about having it freighted and I don't have a clue. Can anyone more experienced than I please tell me where to start?? I would so appreciate it. I know that I could refuse the sale, but I would just as soon, be rid of it. Please Advise

Might I suggest Crater & Freighters! They will crate it and delivery it if you want. I have NO idea of cost. Maybe you can call you and give them measurements for an approx cost to crate it. I would trust them much more then a mail box etc type place.

You can go into AW story archives and find the whole article about using freight companies. I just read the story last week so it's still there.
