I just got this note via Email...Note, I am a Powerseller with close to 2000 positive feedbacks, I have always paid my account in full. All my auctions are up and running...Ebay Customer Support says my account is in good standing, and they confirm that I have never even had a NPB filed against me... Here is the note..Dear kyms66:

On 6/18/01, a change was made to eBay's Non-Paying Bidder (NPB) Policy so that eBay members who receive three warnings from unique sellers will be indefinitely suspended from using eBay. This is a Policy Notice sent to remind you of the change and the possible impact to you.

You currently have three warnings from unique sellers, and you have been suspended for 30 days. Since you received your third warning under the current NPB policy, you will be reinstated at the end of the 30 days, unless you receive a fourth NPB Warning, at which time you will be suspended indefinitely.

After the new NPB Policy goes into effect, if you buy the item or resolve the issue and the seller agrees to remove your third NPB warning, you will be left with two unique NPB warnings and you will be subject to the new Non-Paying Bidder Policy.

This means that if you receive a third NPB warning you will be indefinitely suspended from using eBay.

While you are suspended, please be advised that you are prohibited from using eBay in any way, which includes registering under a new account name or using another account. It is important to note that if an attempt is made to re-register and use eBay, it may result in the permanent suspension of your eBay account(s), which will not allow for a future reinstatement.

As our User Agreement explains, if you are the high bidder on any item, you are expected to honor your bid and are obligated to buy the item. Our Non-Paying Bidder Policy exists to help us enforce our User Agreement with respect to non-paying bidders.

For details about eBay's NPB Policy, go to:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/npb.html

If you paid for the item, please ask the seller to fill out a Non-Paying Bidder Warning Removal form which can be found at:
http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?RemoveNPBWarningShow

If you believe you have received an NPB Warning in error, please review the Non-Paying Bidder appeals and follow the instructions on our Help page:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/appeal-npb.html

If you have listed items on eBay, please note that this suspension does not relieve you of your agreed-upon obligation to pay your eBay account balance. Please use the
following links to check your balance and make an immediate payment:

There are a few threads on the trust and safety boards over on ebay. It seems that this may be a password harvesting scheme. A lot of people got this email today and none of them are NARU.

Well, it looks like eBay is, telling you that you are suspended for 30days (but can be reinstated at the end of that time this time), if it happens again---you outta there!

Seems eBay's automated system shows 3 unique users have filed for FVF against against you!!!!

If you are a seller and NOT a buyer and this is a glitch..it's a big one and I would be on the telephone post haste! I don't think I would leave this to email!

Have you been suspended????

Maybe someone is playing a very ugly trick on you or eBay has you mixed up with someone else or perhaps there is a glitch and you received this at random. That's why I'd be on the telephone immediately!

Good luck!

Wow, I just read tsunamii's post! I wonder how many people would just hit the reply button to inquire what the $#%! is going on!

Thanks for the heads up!

tsunami,

How would this as to harvest passwords? All of the links appear to take one to ebay. How would they get our passwords from this, unless, of course, someone asked for it, and then someone gave it.

hmmmm

If they are harvesting passwords, the links can be phony. Check the link address and make sure it is exactly as it should be by going to eBay.com and navigating to the authentic page.

Then again, it is more than likely an eBay glitch.

Please do come back and tell us how it turns out. It is something like this that I see eventually resulting in a huge court case when eBay is arbitrary in shutting someones means of living down without proper care. They may find themselves dealing with a judge who does not think the universe revolves around eBay.

I got a note from Daphne at Ebay, she said that my account was not suspended. She said there are no NPB's filed against me, and that she has no idea why eBay sent the note. Many others are having the same experience I am, they are posting on the Safe Harbor board at ebay... I am really upset about this, they say I am not in trouble, but I have over 100 auctions running right now, and I will be really upset if they kill them...

Someone must have pushed the wrong button, again?

As I recall something similar to this happened last year in the SH department, and numerous users were emailed by "accident".
