Earlier I had posted the same question regarding a business that has fairly high feedback and many on going auctions. Without thinking I posted a direct link to the auction. Well Smitty, the moderator, doing his/her job pulled the offending thread and sent me an email pointing out my evil deed. I am sorry for the offense. Never happen again.
My reason for the post was to find out if a VERY LARGE Ad and email links were within the rules of ebay. You see sometimes I am not sure and I suspect that there might be others who are unsure of the posting guidelines of ebay. I wanted to see what kind of answers I would get. Well there were seven (maybe 8) responses before Smitty did his/her job. I think it was 5 saying there were problems, 2 saying no problems. Within the (5) problem answers there were some who said so what, I agree, so what if they don’t follow all of the over the top rules of ebay. IMHO, I wouldn’t care if there were naked dancing people on the page, but ebay does have rules. Do they apply them equally? Fill in the blank.
I asked ebay the same question and got the following reply:

Re: What are eBay's listing policies? (Community Watch)
Hello (name),
Thank you for contacting eBay about the listing #xxxxxxx. I
apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
Upon review of the information that you have provided, we have
determined that the seller has violated eBay policy. I wanted to let you
know that I have warned the member against any future activity of this
type. Since this is a first violation, the current auctions will be
allowed to continue to their scheduled end.

We appreciate your continued help in keeping eBay a safe and fair place
to trade! Thank you for being part of the eBay community.
Regards,

Fair enough, first time offense. Not to mention that ebay stands to make some nice FVFs on the 122 auctions that are running. I have read of smaller people having their auctions ended right away for violating the rules, first time offenders.
I guess I should change this header to “Does ebay play by their rules?”.
.As a collector of “TENNIS RACKETS” I just came across an auction that just did not look like it belonged, according to the rules. I am not a ebay cop, as was suggested in the deleted thread, just a seller and a buyer who wanted to ask a question. Sorry for the long post. Thanks Smitty.
