Let me start by saying I am a 25year postal emploee, Very low on the postal foodchain.
Word is our contract isn't expected to be settled until NOV (a year after it expired)
So, Here is where your postage increase went
"The U.S. Postal Service may be facing a $1 billion dollar deficit this year but it is prepared to pay its senior managers additional pay incentives of up to 25% later this year, DIRECT Newsline has learned.
A month after taking office Postmaster General Jack Potter advised the senior officials in a July 3 memo about the potential increase in extra income, which previously, sources said, averaged about 15%.
According to that memo, a copy of which was obtained by DIRECT Newsline, Potter states that "if we continue our current trend in work hour reductions, the maximum potential increase to Postal Career Executive Service (PCES) executive reserve account could approach 25% this year."

This message illustrates what's wrong with the Postal Service. Too much energy is devoted to labor/management bickering and not enough to improving the quality of service.

What gets me about the postal increase is that the higher ups got a pay raise at about the time of the first year's rate increase then they increased the rates even more because of the projected loss of business.
Well, USPS -CUT BACK! Quit endorsing stuff like the Olympics, the bike race in Europe and whatever else that you do with the income from us!
Who is making these business decisions anyways? Someone who opened their CrackerJack Box and found a business/accounting degree from the Carmel Popcorn College?

Another thing - Why does the USPS need to advertise on television? Like anyone doesn't know that you can't send a package with the post office?
Funny thing at the post office. This woman wanted to use priority mail, but filled out the express mail paperwork. The clerk explained the difference, and the woman said that oh, I know, I should have used the envelope without the eagle on it! The clerk said that the eagle is on everything, it is their logo!
