for feedback. I just got another e-mail "Why haven't you left feedback?"
I have told this person FOUR times already when I leave positive feedback (I give time for the person to get the item, and leave it in bulk instead of going in daily and leaving feedback.)
You would think that after the end of auction e-mail explaining when I leave feedback, the invoice explaining when I leave feedback, and the two personal e-mails I've had to send after being asked why I haven't left feedback I would quit being asked.
I hate it when I get these people who nag and nag and nag.
I had one person e-mail me seven times (I wasn't going to leave him feedback because he was a bad customer, but not quite deserving of a neutral -- just slow pay even for an international bidder, which I didn't accept at that time. Looking back I should have negged him and said, "Here is the feedback you kept hounding me for". :-P
I hope this last e-mail I sent explaining how I do feedback puts an end to this nagger until the block of feedback to be left he is in is up (just a couple days. This auction only ended this month, its not like its been ages, esp. when paying with check!)

I always do my feedback in bulk. It's so much easier that way. And if they pay by check I usually wait to give feedback just in case the check would bounce. I just had a buyer pay by check and he enclosed a note that says please give feedback on receipt of this payment and I'll do the same for you.
Sorry, he's just going to have to wait.

Oddly enough, I've gotten two "I'm trying to reach 100 feedback" messages from sellers this week since I havn't left feedback apparentely soon enough for them. (Personally 95% of my transactions are sales, only 5% are purchases).
Of the two, one I'm not satisfied with and will not leave them a feedback regardless, and the other I was going to do it this weekend, but now will make 'em wait the full 90 days!!

Or you could have saved the time spent writing multiple emails (and posting here) and just left them a feedback comment already, since you indicated that you were going to eventually.

Glad I'm a litte nicer with feedback. You guys act like it is such a pain in the butt to do.
I probably update feedback 2-3 times per week (AuctionWatch makes it soooo much easier).
It's part of the unwritten deal with ebay -- if you don't get that, no one can make you. But feedback is important to buyers AND sellers.
There are many of us who update feedback regularly. I guess we raise the bar of expectation for other users -- so when you guys don't give prompt feedback, they are naturally concerned.
Yet, here you make fun of them for their concern. Shame on you. Sorry you're TOO BUSY to do your job completely.

peiklk,
Read the thread again,
This isn't a matter of being TOO BUSY, this is a matter of some buyers (had one recently myself) who ask hourly about feedback from the minute they respond to your EOA.
The shame here is on those who don't recognize there are people who do things a different way & respond to THEIR situation rather than making value judgements of their own.

Right is right?? Sayeth who??
Although I leave FB when pmt arrives, I understand the bulkers & agree that FB nagging is:
tacky

I don't give my buyers time to nag me.
I leave feedback when I send them "their item is in the mail" notice.
I ship within 48 hours of received payment and most the time the same day.
We need our buyer...we must keep them happy.
Happy buyers return to buy MORE!

I never get naggers.
When I send out my EOA, it states that I post FB on the day I ship their item.
On the day I ship their item, I post FB & send off a standard "on its way" email that also tells 'em FB has been left.
Simple.

Eventer --
Read the thread again -- cannot see where anyone mentioned "HOURLY" reminders except you.
The first person mentioned a FOURTH reminder -- maybe that is pushing it. But then the thread has deteriorated into people calling buyers naggers if they ask ONCE about feedback.
Appreciate your willingness to jump on me, but make sure you have your facts straight.
Feedback IS expected -- once a week makes sense, but if you're waiting and doing it once in a blue moon, then you deserve to be reminded/nagged/prodded/harrassed.
There's good buyers and bad buyers.
Clearly, there are good sellers and bad sellers too.

Perhaps I need new glasses because I've yet to see a single case of that happening here. Perhaps you'll be so kind as to point out the exact place that happened.
but make sure you have your facts straight.
I think that's rarely a problem I have. But I'll admit there are some who have problems accepting the viewpoints of others, especially when it differs from their own.
Feedback IS expected
It may be "expected" but it is neither required on either the part of the buyer nor the seller nor is there ANYTHING in the ebay guidelines which indicate any one method of leaving feedback (instantly versus leaving later in bulk) is any better than another.
In the past years we've had many threads about the "proper" time to leave feedback. After much debate, I think most of us have agreed that it comes down to individual choice on both the buyer and seller part and MOST of us have accepted there isn't a wrong way or a right way regarding the leaving of feedback.
There are even some who don't wish to leave ANY feedback, which is their right as well.

And I will say I am one of them. You leave feedback right away after your "Item Shipped" e-mail and you're open to being negged. Leaving feedback after you hear back from the buyer of a safe delivery and/or satisfied transaction minimizes your negative feedback.
Feedback is optional so no one should expect it.

When I was selling on ebay I put in my TOS that feedback would be left after the package had arrived at its destination and feedback has been left for the auction. As a buyer I leave feedback when the package arrives and the transaction has been completed. Never got nagged and never nagged!

"leave feedback, and ship, the same day the funds arrive. No naggers here .............."
I truly believe there has been a surge of over-aggressive or maybe just poorly mannered buyers lately.
I also leave feedback and ship the same day the funds arrive. I also send a notification of feedback and shipment on that day. However, I have recently, and I swear I am not lying, had a rash of buyers ASKING FOR FEEDBACK AFTER IT HAS ALREADY BEEN LEFT. These people must automatically send a templated email to all the people they have purchased from about a week after they send their payment without even looking at their feedback. I can't imagine if I didn't leave immediate feedback how many naggers I'd be getting.
I believe if someone wants to leave feedback once a month, once a week, or once a day, that is their option. Maybe in our TOS we need to provide links on interesting things people can do or look at while they are waiting for their items and feedback.
Sorry if this sounds negative. Have had a rough week dealing with buyers. Glad I have a place to vent.

I'm in the group that waits a week or two after the item has been shipped. I do my feedbacks in bulk, and do it no less than 10 days after shipping. THe reason I do this is that I have been burned. I used to leave feedback immediately upon shipping, but I had one buyer that was such a weenie!
Now I wait.

THE ABOVE QUOTE IS SO TRUE! I want my buyer to be satisfied with the item first, and settle all misunderstandings, before I give feedback.

It looks light I am in the minority but I leave feedback when the buyer pays me. I figure they have held up their end of the deal and they deserve feedback. Too many sellers play the little game "will give feedback when you give me mine" and to me thats shows a lack of confidence in their merchandise or service to their customer. I get more feedback when I sell than when I buy which is strange even though the Paypal goes out immediately or the money order is issued and mailed same day. Again, the buyer doesnt want to "burn" one in case the deal goes south. It gives them the ability to retaliate if they need to. To date I have 800 positives and 1 negative and that negative was earned because I negged for a nonpayment. I think we all should feel good we made a sale and if you feel so strongly about when you give feedback, put it your TOS.

As a buyer: it doesn't really bother me that some sellers wait till they get my feedback, before leaving theirs for me. It is their choice.
As a seller: I always leave feedback when I receive their payment (and after the check clears, etc). I have never had any problems with negs left for me after I've left good feedback, because the product has always been as described. I've had buyers never leave me feedback, and I've never e-mailed them asking for it.
What's the big deal anyway? I got a sale, got paid, or got a nice purchase for a good price. I'm happy no matter what.
