...on after auction sales?

I consistently get emails after auctions close offering to buy things that didn't sell. Can I, within ebay's rules, sell directly on these items? The message thru the ebay servers has an "encouragement" not to do so, but it doesn't say I can't, just that I won't get feedback (awww....) and that there is no "protection" on such sales.

Anyone know a seller warned or suspended for post auction sales? Anyone heard from ebay on this? I emailed this question to support and got back a lovely form letter on an entirely different subject.

If the buyer contacted you, there seems to be no rule against it.

If you sell directly to them, and you get ripped off, eBay can do nothing about it. You can't leave negative feedback on the sale. You would have to try to track them down yourself.

The fee eBay takes isn't much, and it's a good safety net just in case.

Do what I do set up a Buy It Now listing with the bidding restricted to just their ID.

If you sell the item through ebay and get ripped off, there is little you can do either.

But as the seller, how are going to get ripped off ?

ebay is a safety net? Would you care to explain that?
Of course they would like you to think so, so you willingly give them a cut of anything you sell....

And I can't believe that ebay has people so brainwashed that they think that even when the auction is OVER, that ebay still has the right to say what the seller can do with his own property.

I just had two more sales today "off" ebay. Both buyers liked the items they received when I auctioned them off. They asked about other items I may have that were slightly related to what I had sold them.

I found the products and exchanged e-mails discussing price, payment methods, shipping methods etc. and spent MY time to make this extra money. Now give a share of that to ebay? You gotta be kidding!

I have heard from 2 competitors that asked if I turned them into eBay for selling outside of their site. Both were suspended.

I think some sellers use this to elliminate competition and eBay plays right along with them.

I agree with capotasto that once the auction is over it is my property to do with what I please. Just because it was listed it means that ebay now has "rights" to it? For how long? They are "only a venue".

What happens next? You put the item on a yard sale and the ebay police come in with a hit squad and nail you?

I agree that ebay has some people running scared.

I sell if some one emails after a auction closes with no bids, They write me I dont write them this is not spam and not against there rules.

True if they dead beat you cant give them negitive feed back but since most dont send items before they get paid this is no big deal and you dont have to file any FVF.

even when you sell the Item on ebay Ebay dont deal with seller buyer problem they will send you a caned responce that they are just a venue.

Ebay only protects Buyers in the long run with fraud insurance on large purchases ..
