I cancled my stamps.com account in April and I was still being charged stamps.com's fees for the past few months. When I broght it to their attention, I recieved rude emails basically doing nothing to rectify the situation and making excuses. I was a heavy user using hundreds of dollars per month on stamps.com and once I cancled I stopped using the account.

That is not proof enough for stamps.com and they even said they are going to charge me again because they consider that I cancled when I made my complaint this month. Mysteriously all previous emails have disapeared.

Their final statement after all my complaints:

"No adjustment will be made."

I of course am dealing with the BBB and the fraud organization but I am not sure how that will pan out. I am seeking a class action lawsuit. I have heard of others having this type of problem. Even if I don't get a lawsuit, I would at least like to make sure that anyone who has had problems complains at the better busines website and the online auction fraud website.

I was a good customer for stamps and am not sure why they would do this. I have coppies of their rude emails as well if anyone wants to see them. They have no consideration for their customers.

Oh, another thing. The "Free $25 in postage" is deducted from your account when you cancle. NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY YOU SPEND WITH THEM OR HOW LONG YOUR A CUSTOMER!

Does anyone else know of a good alternative to stamps.com? I was thinking of using simplypostage but was not sure if it is any good. Has anyone else had a similar problem that is still on these boards? I remember hearing a lot of people before complaining about the same sort of thing.

I did exact the same thing to me, I kept complaining and complaing, they finaly stopped. This kind of business practice wont take them anywhere, Chapter 11 is their destination.

I have heard of others having this type of problem.

Many people have posted on AuctionWatch of having this problem. It's extremely disconcerting. I had a problem with my account and finally wrote to their CEO. Someone phoned me in response... and was quite rude!

Call your credit card company and charge back as many of their charges as you can. Unfortunately, you usually only have 60 days from when the charge appears on your statement to dispute it.

Other options: speak with the United States Postal Service. They should be interested and maybe you can file a postage fraud complaint???

I second wbbell. Endicia is offering 1 free month I think still, I joined a few weeks ago. The software took a bit of getting used to but you can do way more with Endicia than you can with Stamps.com. I closed my stamps.com account the same day I opened my account with Endicia. You are going to find Endicia far superior and much more flexible. I predict that Stamps.com will be out of the picture soon. In the meantime, I'll check my credit card bills.

Many folks have had difficulty ending stamps.com, including my kid!

DROP them like a rock! Switch to a company that actually provides CS!

Yes, it does take a little work & trial/error to set-up, but once you're set, ya don't look back!

RUN, don't shuffle to:

www.endicia.com

tomwiii, tell it on the mountain, brother! I myself just signed up with Endicia, and am GIDDY with happiness at how much easier and faster Endicia is compared to brand S. I did need to call their tech support due to the Avery 8163 labels I was in the habit of using, but Endicia's tech rep went over and
beyond the call of duty to help me. I just
printed postage for about 13 packages, and it seemed like it took half the time that it used to with their complaint ridden competitor. And the Endicia software (called Dazzle) is so smart and intuitive, once you get used to it. For example, I cut & paste
my bidder's shipping addresses from their e-mails, and when I was cutting, the Endicia
software automatically put the name right where I wanted it! Saved me lots of time.
I am just so blown away by this product and
the company that stands behind it, I'm still
waiting to wake up and find out that it's just a dream. I'm so used to getting the shaft from companies that offer auction related products, but Endicia, you have NO competition!

Now the only question is, do I wanna spend a year trying to get Stamps.com to cancel MY account?

Thanks for reading,

Jack

I signed up with Endicia 2 days ago. Couldn't get it working, but with the great CS, it now works great! Yesterday I closed my Stamps.com account - and today I'm making a trip to my bank to STOP any more charges to my CC with Stamps.com.

Bye-Bye Stamps.com and good riddens!

Another "me too" for Endicia.com

They are the greatest! You'll also find the president of the company participating here in the threads and most willing to help out with questons. I'd say I liked it so much that I bought the company but he already has that job.

First, that you ALL VERY much. I appreciate your help. Especially turning me on to endicia.com. I will be checking them out now. The people at stamps.com have been SO rude to me so I filed a complaint with the bbb.org and fraud.org and let me tell you, it does help.

First, if every one of you that has had problems would fill out a complaint, even though it may not help you personally, it will keep them from doing this to others in the future, or it may even put them out of business. In fact, I submitted a complaint with fraud.org and if they get enough complaints they turn it in to the FBI and to WTO and other companies and they investigate it. These practices can't remain unnoticed. They are only now starting to listen AFTER I filed complaints and threatened to sue in small claims court. I live close to them and it would be very easy for me to take them to court.

See, I deleted the software from my computer the day I cancled (in april). I was sent to some webpage where I submit a form to cancle. Magically and mysteriously, that request was "never recieved" and even though my account was inactive for a few months, they still charged me for the monthly fees. When I first aproached them, all I wanted was 2 months of the service refunded and my balance which has remained on my stamps.com account to this day. According to them, the $25 in free postage (that I used up about a year ago) is charged to me because it's their money and

"Since you did not purchase the free postage, there is no refund due. No adjustment will be made."

HOW CAN THEY CALL THAT FREE THAN?!?!?!??!?!?!
