I am wondering how you feel about e-Bay's gallery. Is it worth the extra .25 you pay? I have no problem when I list something for more than just a few dollars, but between that fee, AW fees, and now Paypal fees, Is it even worth anything extra? Comments please.

Ebay gallery seems like a good idea, but the execution leaves alot to be desired.

If you look at a search of auctions, eBay now only shows a framed icon, instead of your gallery image, when you pay for this feature.

The only place the gallery image shows is when a customer requests to look at the gallery.

Hardly seems worth it, in my book.

econ,

I don't know what your talking about but its my experience that when doing a search on eBay the default includes "all items including gallery".
I think that with this new default setting it makes using gallery even more valuable.
I find I only look at items that have the little thumbnail print.

econ, packer is right. When you pay the extra 25 cents for the gallery, your thumnail pic always shows up on the auction search page, along with items that do not have the gallery pic. Yours stands out though because you are giving a quick peek at what you are offering.

When you click on "gallery items only," then the search page shows only those items that have a gallery picture.

bet, some sellers swear by using the gallery, and others don't feel it's worth the money. Personally I do. However, I do not buy a gallery for every item I sell, only the special stuff (something I think will bring in good money) and items I know people won't necessarily open to look at, but may if gallery preview photo catches their eye.

bet,

I did a little test last month and listed about 50 items without using the gallery. Two weeks later I listed 50 similar items using the gallery and got about double the bid and $$$$$.

I will never list my items without it again.

A few months back I started searching "gallery items only" in different categories and now that is one of my favorite ways to do a search.

I scan through the pages quickly and click on items that interest me and then I check out the seller's other auctions and find some items that I may not normally bid on. If I have time I will go several days ahead in the listings, bookmarking anything good.

Now when I sell I usually add most of my items to the gallery. Every seller should put at least some of their best items there.

Now if only I could remember to bid!

I put ALL my auctions in the gallery, this is so I can make my own "Personal Gallery" from them.
One click and all my auctions are up and pictured.
So I feel I get double service for my extra quarter.
I don't and won't click onto outside "Picture Galleries" or "Showcases" such as Auctiva as they have a tendency to crash my machine.
