It occured to me that it might not be a great idea to send my street address to auction winners along with a note that I'd be out of town for certain days on vacation.
Or is that unnecessarily paranoid?
Is it better to use some sort of language like "payments received June 2-7 will be held for shipping on June 8th; to avoid delay please pay by PayPal or PayDirect no later than June 1st"?

I think that is a great idea, I have seen several auction listings where people clearly state they will be out of town on certain days, I always thought that was an like sending an invitation for people to come rob their homes.
"Due to circumstances beyond my control I will be unable to ship the week of XXX, items paid for during that time will be shipped on XXX."

I post in my auctions that there will be not shipping this date to that date so no one is surprised or mad. I put the message on the listings about 3 weeks ahead of time. I also put it in my EOA along with my street address.
I don't worry about it. Heck, I give the would be robber 3 weeks to plan it. However, just because I am not shipping does not mean no person is home. My spouse is often here when I am not. Wouldn't they be surprised!

I doubt very much that anyone on eBay is looking for places to burglarize, but this is one very strange world. The best thing is to simply state that you will not be shipping during the week of XX/X/XX.
I'm often home during my vacations as are many people.

I stopped using my home address a long time ago. Even my checks have my business address instead of a home address.

I will be busy cleaning the guns and fortifying the bunker and will be unable to ship the week of XXX. Items paid for during that time will be shipped on XXX.
