I just had one of the more "original" letters I've ever recieved after the auction... It is in response to my offer to change shipping methods to lessen her bill...
"thanks for being honest and realizing that I am going through a menopausal
stage in life and went XXX ebay crazy..not good when your email tells you
that it is full of announcements on bids for a XXXX."
I've read a few installments from a book called "Letters From A Nut", this one kinda fits that profile...Do any of you have similar notes that have left you... open mouthed?

I recently had a new eBayer win one of my auctions; things progressed normally, he answered my EOA email promptly, saying he would mail payment immediately, etc. Then in about a week, I got an email from him complaining that he'd had no contact from me concerning the auction . . .
I forwarded his original email to him, to show him we'd already corresponded . . . he replied, apologizing . . . then in a few minutes, I got another email from him, angrily complaining that it was not fair to run an auction, then not follow up, refuse to answer his emails, etc. . . .
I tried once more to straighten him out, he apologized once again . . . then he emailed again, threatening to neg me for not answering his emails . . . at this point, he made reference to the fact that he'd won two auctions on the same day, and had gotten them confused . . . I checked his bid history; he had not won two auctions on that day, he had only won mine. He apparently had made a note that he'd won (title of book) from one person, and (auction number) from another, when in fact they were the same auction. So the seller of the book was corresponding with him, but the "other seller" was ignoring him. (Is all this clear as mud?) I thought I was going crazy before I figured out the problem, and helped him look up his bid history.
We ended up on a friendly note, and left each other good feedback.

I had one last year that had me shaking my head for a while. I sold a hand done tapestry purse. Started out normal enough. A week after auction, I received an e-mail; 'I'm returning the purse, it's dirty not as described.... (it was still in my possession, had not received payment),I e-mail her, she apologizes. We went through this three times over as many hours. Then she sends me glowing feedback, nice but I still had the purse...finally got the payment and sent it off. Then I never heard from her again.

I got an email form a cetified nut- he was scytzo...sciyzofr...I'm not getting the dictionary out... he was nuts. He said so in the email, after berating me for not shipping the item and cheating him, etc.. This email came the day after the auction ended and the item wasn't even paid for yet.
But I'll say this for him- he paid right away, he may have been mentally ill but he wasn't a deadbeat. Makes you wonder about other deadbeat excuses.
