Since they are owned by ebay, and our ebay notices are notoriously slow, perhaps they don't consider it important enough to dedicate sufficient resources to it.
On line buyers have this silly notion that the internet is instant gratification, or could be. So it is bad business practice to allow such delays, since they don't earn their commission until we sellers confirm this notice, and delays annoy buyers.
However, be grateful that notices are received at all. Because their emails are so alike, some services like hotmail and webtv have blocked messages from them thinking they were spam. Last spring a number of mine never arrived, customers assumed it was me and left me negative feedback. Now I go to the site to check every so often - which I hate since half.com is so slow, even when it is not busy.

I can't even get the Half.com site to come up. I tried yesterday also to no avail. I would like to check on my stuff too.

I have simply not received about three emails in the last week or so. Although I check the site regularly, the problem is you have no way of getting the same transaction number as the buyer's--something that you are supposed to include with you packing info. Makes the seller look like a bozo and confuses some buyers. I like my business to be exact.
