I recently saw a AW members Ebay listing with an animated Gif. I was wondering how to do this, if it is possible or was I just seeing things? Thanks very much for any help.

You can but don't.
This is incredibly annoying and many people with slower modem connections will avoid.
A week or so ago I saw an auction with 2 dozen dancing hampsters along with "Hampster Dance" song playing. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH.
Just one question WHY? What does the animated GIF add to your auction?

If it's one showing your widgit working, it CAN add to the auction. I use Mpg's to do this. I don't make them load when the auction loads, I use a clickable link (they can take a minute or two to load on a slow connection). I can assure you, it can make certain mechandise sell better, and for higher prices. I've had several buyers tell me they would never have bid on a $200 + item without knowing it works.
But just to make your auction look cute? No, the slow loading pages will lose you bids.

You can get an easy Animated gif maker by buying Paint Shop Pro by JASC. You can use animated gifs in many ways. If it's just to be cute, than it can be annoying. You can use them to save screen space, yet add more info. For example look at the animated gif in the upper left on rattle.com. Animated gifs can be quite small because you can use a lower resolution, since a given image does not remain on the screen.
