The ability to search for past topics in the message center (and I'd like to limit it to the ebay outlook) is far from intuitive, I give AW a D grade here... (actually an F since I can't seem to do it).

Can anyone tell me how to do it? I'm looking for that string on adding RAM to your computer.

Thanks.

Yup, thanks.
Now how could I have found that myself?

Now how could I have found that myself?

The only way I know of:

1) You have to have read the thread in the first place (or be extremely lucky in guessing the search terms).

2) You have to remember some specific words from any individual post on the thread (the more specific, the better). If you just search on one word (PayPal or Billpoint, for example), you might as well forget it.

3) You have to have the patience to search through all the results returned if your search terms are not very specific. Knowing tha approximate date of the thread, and the forum it was posted in helps.

4) If you can remember a post by one particular person, try searching on their name along with some of the words from their post.

There are probably other ways as well, but that's what I do...

1. yup
2. yup
3. yup
4. yup

But my problem is more basic than that and AW has not made it easy for me...
Just where do I put those search terms?
In Universal search?
Power search?
Neither of those found anything in the message center.

Click on "site search" in the green bar at the bottom of the page, enter your search terms in the box and check the "also search Message Center" box.

Thanks again, it worked.

Now if AW would just put a box there that says "ONLY search the message center"...

Naaaah, that's too obvious.
