My 600 dpi HP Scanjet 3200C Scanner recently stopped working on my PII 450 machine. HP has defeinitely the worlds lousiest driver software. Nothing, even reinstalling 98SE and cleaning out /IOSUBSYS worked. However, when I installed it on my networked 486/133 it worked fine.
Now the question: I would like to access the scanner and even some photo programs from the 486, since its a hassle to work at it directly from its keyboard. Its on a 10Mb TCP/IP RJ45 network card. What would be possbile programs to run programs remotely from this machine?
Would there be any special problems with the setup? I currently use the 486 mainly as a file server and have its drives mapped, so I hope the software wouldn't interfere with this function.
