I sent my EOA notices out this morning, and was graced with the following in my inbox this afternoon:
"I will not get this picture because I thought it was a rare picture. I looked
on e-bay and they are selling another one. I'm sorry!"
Ok - now what?
Sit back and wait to file NPB, then FVF, or inform them that their bid is legally binding and they should have read before they signed up?
Argh!!!!!

Both, but in reverse order.

You can try, but my guess is they're not going to say "Right you are, I'll send a check."
Better to cut your losses and leave them negative feedback. If they're a newbie, and especially if they have 0 feedback, to knock them down to -1 is the best revenge.

Please forgive me, but I just have to ask:
Did you by chance use the R word in your title or ad???????
Just wondered based on the newbie's email!

This is the equivalant of what was posted:
(Slightly altered to avoid distinction, changed words in "" )
"Person" 8x10 "Beautiful" "Songstress" Closeup LOOK!
sulyn1950 - I understand your curiosity completely!
(edited because I unknowingly used a smilie)

I think I would leave out the "legally binding" part. I haven't seen any court declare that transactions on eBay are leaglly binding.

ravensrealm-I just couldn't resist. There have been lots of threads here about RARE and of course L@@K!!!
I was wondering what would happen if a bidder pointed out to a seller that their use of that word was misleading (if they could point out several other such items anyway), thus they were refusing to pay????
Anyway, I am sorry this happened to you. I really don't know what to tell you. I am sure you will get lots of good advice.
Thanks for not taking offense at my question. At least I hope you didn't.

Hi ravensrealm -
I had this happen to me, also by a new ebay user who shared the day after she won it her husband had bought the same thing for her.
I emailed and explained (nicely) the rules on honoring ones bids. She wrote back saying she wasn't aware of that and if I wanted she would pay for it. I let her out of the trade and recommended that she read some of ebays tutorials.

or you could request their user info, call em up and harrass them a bit. write an ad for a personals newsgroup and put their number in it. of course you would want to block your computer address ...just a thought
