Here's the scenario:
I have complete documentation about an auction that ended last Oct 7. The bidder replied on Oct 10 and then tried to pay in a form was not included among the several options stated in both my listing and EOA notice. I returned this payment. Despite several subsequent emails from me and an NPB, the bidder failed to send payment in an accepable form and did not contact me again. I negged Oct 26 and filed the FVF on Nov 6. And subsequently relisted and sold the item successfully.
On Jan 9, 2001 (2 months later) the bidder sent me a distraught email about the neg and with explanations (teenagers) about how she might have missed my messages. I replied calmly and politely that from my perspective she had received several emails from me, plus a returned electronic payment notice, plus an NBP from eBay, but I'd received no replies since the EOA notice, nor had I received payment according to my TOS. No payment = neg.
Then nothing further ... until a SquareTrade email today stating that the bidder wants me to agree to the neg's removal because I filed an NBP and never removed it even although, according to her, I was the one who made a mistake! She told SquareTrade that she's NARU (she isn't; I just checked her record) and wants me to agree to remove the neg.
This is all over a $9 item from an auction 9 months ago.
Frankly, I don't have much interest in going into this all over again with the bidder, when my answer is the same as it was in my January email to her.
What happens if I don't respond to the Square Trade email?
